The purpose of an elixir is for the water to uptake the crystal vibration of the stone. There is some debate whether you should use polished or natural stones. In our opinion a more important consideration is if the stone is safe to use or not. Minerals such as cinnabar (a form of mercury) should not be used. Water soluble minerals such as celestite and angelite should also not be used as it will damage the stones.

The most common stone we use at SayItInStone is called Pennsylvania Bluestone. We have tried various types and chose this one because of its consistent grain and its availability. The grain of this stone enables us to produce a nice sharp, clean letter when engraved. All our stones are natural and have unique qualities distinctive to each. The work of our artisans, then, enhances each stone.

John Robert's Aqua Elixir is an exfoliating service done with dead sea salts. The products used for exfoliation are rinsed with a Vichy shower treatment or removed with heated moist towels. A customized oil is then applied to the body with massaging strokes. A massage is a therapeutic treatment which can involve relaxation techniques, muscle treatment, and more depending upon the needs of the guest.

The sand used for the setting bed should always be of a course sand type. Concrete sand is the optimum type and gradation for this part of the project. This is a national uniform specification set forth by the Interlocking Concrete Paving Institute (ICPI). Some people like to use stone dust, and in some areas, stone dust can be an effective setting bed. The reason stone dust is not recommended is because it will not allow for drainage under the paving stone.

No, I am the photographer. I use a Nikon 5400 now, but many of the images on my site were taken with a Kodak DC120. The Kodak is now an antiquated camera, as Digital's go, but it still takes excellent pictures. I take most images using natural daylight and keep a photo station set up in a bay window all the time.
