A chandelier that is hung in a foyer should have the bottom at least 8 feet above the floor. If the ceiling is very high the chandelier may be hung higher than 8 feet. If there is a window above the door thru which the chandelier will be seen from the outside, the chandelier should be hung centered in relation to the window.

A chandelier should be chosen based on the width of the foyer, the ceiling height and any architectural details, such as double doors, or a window above the door. A general rule is the chandelier width should be at least the same size in inches as the diagonal measurement of the room in feet.

You should at least see to that the chandelier is hanging as far up so everyone can see eachother across the table.

If your ceiling is 8 feet high the bottom of the chandelier should be 30 inches above the table. For a higher ceiling the chandelier may be raised 3 inches for every foot of ceiling height above 8 feet. For example for a 10 foot ceiling the proper height would be 36 inches (30+6).

Simply add the dimensions together. For example, if your foyer is 12’ by 16’, add the 12 plus 16 to get 28. The proper size chandelier would be 28” in diameter. This works for any room. Make sure the bottom of the fixture does not hang more than 7’ from the floor. If windows are present, center the fixture in the window so it can be seen from outside.

Response: To determine what size of a chandelier would fit best in a foyer, or any room, simply add the room dimensions together. For example: if your foyer is 12' x 16', add 12 + 16 = 28. The proper size chandelier for this foyer would be 28" in diameter.

Add the room dimensions together. If the room is 14' by 16', add 14 + 16. The answer is 30, which means that your chandelier should be approximately 30" in diameter. Again, remember that other factors such as the height of the ceiling may influence the proper size.

Probably not… You don't want to have a heavy chandelier attached to the end of a long pole that you are holding! There are power-winch lowering systems available for those applications.

It depends on user preference. Proponents of low hang points say it's more like a free flight (unpowered) harness, and this is only somewhat true--having to balance 45+ pounds of motor/fuel will never allow it to be very much like free-flight. Some say that low hang points allow more weight shift control, and this may be true, but weightshift ability is more a matter of the relative position of the hang points and the machine/pilot's center of gravity (CG).

A suspension loop (H-LOOP) accepts chain-hung fixtures up to 35 pounds. The chandelier may be hot-wired to the suspension loop and be powered from the track.

Different hammock lengths (ring to ring) will require different instructions. We can only make recommendations and you will have to tweak the installation to suit you. If your hammock is 13 feet long you will want a space approximately 15 feet apart with a foot of chain or rope at each end to adjust the hammock up or down from the ground. The hammock hooks that you hang the hammock from should be at least 4 to 5 feet off the ground.

Hanging your set at the right height makes all the difference for comfortable viewing. In general, there are two schools of thought: If you will be watching the TV while sitting on the couch, then the center of the TV should be at eye level when sitting up straight on the couch. However, this could make the TV seem low when standing next to it.

Consider your heavy bag as your opponent. With that in mind, the bag should be high enough to deliver a blow to the "head", so the top of the bag should be about level with the top of your head. If you have a very short bag, you may need to adjust this height somewhat. Unfortunately, this is normal. The combination of your punches and gravity are causing the contents of the bag to settle to the bottom. The best and maybe only option you have, is to purchase an outer cover for your bag.

This depends a lot on the conditions in which it is flown, but flights in excess of 300 miles in length and altitudes of well over 20,000 ft. MSL have been recorded. More typically, pilots in the summer frequently achieve altitudes of 5,000 to 10,000 ft AGL and fly for over 100 miles.

The recommended distance from the ground for placement of the tree hook is between 4 and 5 feet. If your supports are closer than the above recommended distance, the tree hooks should be raised.

This depends a lot on the conditions, but flight distances in excess of 300 miles and altitudes of more than 18,000 feet have been recorded. The thermals in the summer in the western United States are particularly powerful and pilots can often reach altitudes of 5,000 to 10,000 feet and fly over 100 miles.

Most people hang pictures too high. The often-repeated rule of thumb is that the horizontal centerline of a picture should be at eye level. This is not particularly helpful advice since people vary in height, but an average-size person should be able to look comfortably at a picture without having to either bend down or look up.

The height restriction in the Hilton Center and Pavilion is 20'. Hanging signs are not permitted in the Hilton Ballroom.

Pendants or fixtures that hang above the island or bar should be high enough so that all members of the household can look across the island or bar without being obstructed by the hung fixtures. Generally the pendants are hung 6 feet above the floor.

In most homes we recommend that fixtures over tables to hang 60" - 72" from the fixture to the floor. For Kitchen islands 70" - 76" from the floor will provide good light on your workspace without hanging too low.

The BeachBarCam is mounted on a palm tree at the entrance of the Brisa del Mar Restaurant. Ask the staff there for details. For best positioning, stand about 10-15 feet (3-5 meters) away from the camera. If you want to use a sign to send a message, make sure the letters are drawn thickly (at least 1 cm / .5" thick), in dark lettering on a light colored, but non-glossy background (to minimize glare). If your chandelier does not have a lot of crystals, we recommend a soft damp cloth without any solvents to clean your chandelier. If you have a chandelier with many crystals, we would recommend a chandelier cleaner like "Sparkle Plenty" which is sold in Hardware or Lighting Stores. To use a spray cleaner, all that you will need to do is put a towel under the chandelier, turn the lights off and spray the whole chandelier with the cleaner until the cleaner freely drips off the crystals.

Sizing a chandelier is not an exact science. Interior designers often warn against picking a size too small for the space. On the other hand, interesting effects can be achieved with deliberately teensy chandeliers where appropriate. There are formulas to help you, but don't apply them blindly. Take into account the overall configuration of the space and the style of the chandelier. Guidelines below are for residential spaces only.
