RAT4 uses locally scoped multicast to communicate between the user interface and the media engine. On Windows machines without a network adapter a loopback adapter needs to be installed to enable locally scoped multicast to work. Select any MS Loopback adapter and configure with an IP address, and do not configure DHCP, WINS, etc. Restart the machine and bingo!

LogicWorks for Windows will not work if the Windows 95/NT Plus option of Full-window drag has been enabled. To disable this option: a) Use the right mouse button to click the desktop, and then click Properties. b) Click on the Plus! tab. c) Ensure that the "Show window contents while dragging" checkbox has been de-selected. This is a conflict between some system BIOSes and the SanDisk Cruzer Micro flash drive. It is not related to the busTRACE software. If your system exhibits this problem, the system might appear to hang during Windows boot when you have our dongle (i.e. SanDisk Cruzer Micro) installed in a USB port.
