All counselors need to have 30 hours of CEU's in a two-year period. The period began August 1, 2006 and ends July 31, 2008. They can be turned in as they acquire them, yearly when they turn in their renewals or every two years. The next two-year period will begin August 1, 2008 and will end July 31, 2010.

Continuing education became mandatory January 1, 1995. Every year, dentists must complete 15 hours and hygienists must complete 6 hours. In addition, every licensee is required to maintain current CPR certification. The number of hours completed each year is reported on the license renewal form and no documentation of course work should be sent to the Board’s office.

For agents licensed in Florida for at least 6 years when their compliance period begins, only 20 hours is required. These 20 hours must be in Intermediate or Advanced classes, not basic. That depends upon how long your license has been inactive. Although there is no requirement to obtain continuing education during the inactive period, a licensee must show completion of an equal amount of continuing education for each license period to activate that license. Courses which are not approved by TDLR as continuing education courses can not be used for license renewal. If the college course is a TDLR approved continuing education course, then the course hours can be used for license renewal. CPCs, QPAs, QKAs, QPFCs and APMs, need forty credit hours during a two-year period measured on a calendar year basis. Credit cycles begin in odd years (2007, 2009, etc.) and end in even years (2008, 2010, etc.). FSPA and MSPA members satisfy their ASPPA CE requirements by maintaining their Enrolled Actuary status and satisfying the JBEA CE requirements.
