Yes, you may use the computers if you have an appointment with a writing consultant and the work is related to that appointment and takes place directly before, during, or after the appointment. Any of our consultants can help you log on to a computer. We do ask you to sign in at the entry computer station beforehand. Printing can only be done by consultants as part of the work of a consulting session.

Yes. The Reading/Writing Center is an open computer lab. There are 13 computers in the main room of the Center and 20 computers in the classroom (generally available after 2:00pm). Printing is also available at the Center. Please note that the employees at the RWC are hired as writing tutors and not computer technicians. We are not trained to troubleshoot or deal with complicated computer matters. We will however do our best to see that your needs are met.

Talking to another writer about your writing can be valuable at any stage of the writing process whether you are starting to gather ideas or nearly finished with a final draft. The center's writing consultants can help you in any of the following areas:

You are more than welcome to use our computers to print a copy of a draft before your tutorial. You and your tutor can also work on your paper at the computer during your tutorial if you’d prefer. Unfortunately, we just don’t have the resources to offer our computers to students in the process of composing a draft. As WTS is not a UITS computing cluster, we cannot answer computing questions or solve problems with lost files or damaged disks.

A3: One of our primary goals at the Boise State Writing Center is to provide an active working environment where both the consultant and writer engage in a conversation about writing. We serve not as editors, but as careful, interested readers. As readers, we ask questions about the paper, discuss suggestions for revision, talk about mechanics, and help identify errors. We can also help develop strategies for proofreading papers. In short, we work with you, not for you.

this time, the Writing Center is only staffed for face-to-face conferences. However, in special cases, if our schedule permits, we can accept emailed or faxed papers. Please give us a call to discuss this option.

No. We help writers seeking to improve their own skills. We will not edit or proofread a paper for you, but we're always happy to answer specific grammar and style questions that will enable you to edit your own work.

No. The Writing Centers do not provide proofreading services to students. If you need help proofreading your work, you should ask a trusted friend who has a strong command of written English.

The tutoring and writing center, located in Bladen Hall room 107, operates Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm; Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Saturday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. For more information call 301-322-0748.

Any student enrolled at Troy University can make use of the resources at the Writing Center at no cost to the student. The University provides our services for your benefit.

Yes. And if you need help getting started, a tutor will assist you. We have IBM-compatible computers which run MS Word and the full MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer). You may also print out your papers at the Center using your I-card for 4 cents per page. We also have a small library of reference books, including current editions of the MLA Handbook, APA Manual, dictionaries, grammar books, and thesaurus.

Yes. We've made it a priority to support commonly used printed document formats with BlueService. If your employees are carrying clipboards and don't use computers, you can still benefit from BlueService in the office. Just print out each employee's daily schedule and a familiar-looking service request form and off they go, doing work as usual.

The Writing Center is a place where you can meet with a trained writing consultant to talk about any university-related writing project. Your consultant will answer questions, provide feedback, and coach you through any stage of your writing process from brainstorming to final editing.

Our main location is on the first floor of Arts and Sciences Building, Room 150. We also have a Writing Center satellite in UNO's Criss Library near the Reference desk.

UNO students, faculty, and staff from any department on campus are welcome to use the Writing Center free of charge. Writers at any skill level or any stage of the writing process can use the center.

In L1, there is letter formation practice in the Letter Pictures activity; in L2, students practice building word families in the Say and Trace activity; and in L3, students practice writing missed spelling words in the Spelling Instruction activity. ED strongly encourages the electronic filing of applications. Only the Human Resource Officer (HRO) may authorize the use of the alternative paper filing method on a case-by-case basis. If the alternative paper filing method is allowed, the applicant is required to respond to the same questions as applicants applying online.

The WSU Libraries have networked printing available from all public service computers. On-screen items can be printed to these printers for the same cost as a photocopy. The print stations use copicards available for purchase in every library. Word is available on most public machines for printing Word documents. Additionally, CougarCopies is now located in Holland/Terrell Libraries and provides printing services.

We cannot print on paper that you provide on our printers. If you require special paper for printing (i.e. rag paper for thesis / dissertation or a letterhead) you will need to use a commercial printing company. You may print out an original here on our paper and then have the commercial printing company photocopy it to your specialty paper.

You can bring an electronic version of your paper to the Writing Center, but it is not necessary. You can bring in a typed copy of your paper, a handwritten draft, or you can save your work to a disk (floppy-3.5, zip disk, CD-Rom, FTP). Also, each student has 800 MB of storage available on the CBU server, where you can save an electronic version of your paper.

Computers for word processing and research are only available in the Library. Nine computers are available in the Writing Center for Directed Learning Activities only. These computers must be checked out at the front desk and will be monitored by Writing Center staff.

The Workforce Center has two computers available for student use. You may use them to search online jobs or work on your resume or cover letter. Printing is also free of charge. You need a school computer lab account to log on to the computers. Set up a free computer lab account in Rooms 317, 511 or 901. Just bring in your class printout and ask the lab tech. You will receive access to the computers on campus as well as an email address.
