What books should I read to get started or to learn more about Tarot?

jk's Tarot FAQ
I can wholeheartedly (and wholebrainedly) say, since I'm both the author of this FAQ, and the book I'm recommending above all others to you, that if you were to read just ONE book about Tarot, it should be Rhapsodies of the Bizarre. It's not a very large book, and so can't possibly claim to be the most thorough treatment of Tarot, the game or deck of cards. No, that honor and tedium goes to Michael Dummett's bloated and seldom read 1980 The Game of Tarot.

In a way that includes the many things that are not right too. To learn by negative example is still to learn. However, since I like Thoth, and think it is still the most interesting tarot deck there is, I have to recommend first and foremost--- Contrary to what some people have suggested you do not need any background in AC's writings to take on this book.

Should I read any books about Tarot and Tarot reading?

Tarot Card Reading by Lori - About Tarot,FAQ
Yes, it can be useful to read a selection of books but it should be realised that every author will have a slightly different interpretation of the cards' meanings. This can be very confusing to the beginner when each book has slightly different meanings for the cards. As your studying of the cards progresses then you will develop your own interpretations, intuitions and feelings about what the cards are saying and these will be invaluable when conducting readings for yourself and others.

Is it hard to learn or to read tarot?

The Wandering Hermit -- Astrology, Tarot, Poetry, Psychic Re...
Some people make it hard. It depends on the person. One way to learn tarot is to learn intuitively -- in other words, buy a deck you like, and start exploring it. Listen to your inner voice and sense for what each card means. It's interesting to see how many people learn that way and still discover meanings for the cards that are similiar to "accepted" meanings.

JBIWiki: FAQ
A very good book on integration is Enterprise Integration Patterns by Gregor Hophe and Bobby Woolf. An excellent collection of many messaging-based integration solutions. For inter-enterprise integration (B2B), I've found B2B Integration by Christoph Bussler, to be quite interesting. It is a bit academic compared to the other books mentioned above, but covers a wide rather of B2B integration topics in a very methodical fashion. Beware: this is not light reading!

How did you get started reading tarot?

The Wandering Hermit -- Astrology, Tarot, Poetry, Psychic Re...
I got a reading. The woman seemed to be describing someone I knew when she told me there was a relationship coming up. The description was close, but not exact. When things didn't happen like I was told they would, I erased the tape of the reading and promised to forget it all. A year later I was driving and suddenly realized the relationship and job I was in (both of which had just recently started) were exactly what I was told to expect and had come about just the way I was told.
