Any commercial grade grease gun is fine. For convenience, we offer “Caterpillar” type grease nipples for the grease valve because it can be hands free pumping with no leakage. The CAT coupling with longer hose stays attached to the valve while you operate the pump. The hoses and couplers fit standard grease guns.

The designation semi-automatic simply means that the gun loads a bullet in the chamber automatically, without the user having to take an extra step to do so. Thus, every time the user pulls the trigger, one shot is fired, and the next one is loaded. An "automatic" weapon allows the user to fire multiple bullets with one pull of the trigger. When the user pulls the trigger and holds it down, the gun fires a round, automatically loads the next round, and fires that one also, etc....

If the blockage has not shifted after 15 minutes, we recommend that you leave it for up to two hours and then flush with hot water.

Answer: You should not use any food grade grease which contains acetate. AFC is presently using Citgo Mystik food grade grease in hydrants, and recommends Mystik grease for maintenance of AFC hydrants.

This is one area of concern that is sometimes made to be more of an issue than it needs to be. The old homemade grease mixture of lard and tar concoction, to the production axle grease, doubtfully compares to the quality of greases we have available today. The open boxing style wheels do require constant maintenance, but using a quality wheel bearing grease is, in my opinion, still far superior to what was available back when.

Don't use dielectric grease. It will not help and can actually make it worse. The connectors have seals that will keep moisture out. Some trucks will get this code if you have a PMCR with serial number 2879 or under. It tends to occur most around 1100 RPM under load. It does not mean there is actually a problem and it can be ignored, but sometimes the engine will "stumble" or "hiccup" at low RPM under load. This problem can usually be fixed by reprogramming the PMCR module.

There are many, many types of greases. It is generally safe to use NLGI grade #1 greases suggested by major grease companies (as used in a positive pressure, centralized lube system). Not all greases (even NLGI #1) work in the Perma. Then again, several NLGI grade #2 greases may perform fine. It is very important to realize not all greases will work in the Perma. Never assume that a particular grease will work until we review the grease.

We recommend either a white lithium or green emerald. Under no circumstances should wheel bearing grease or any other grease with fibrous material content be used. We strongly favor the American brands. Before buying a rotor made outside the U.S., find out from the dealer or manufacturer what the availability of parts and service will be. The Allied Ho-Pac uses a bearing on both sides of the rotating internal eccentric mass. Grease fittings are provided on each side of the unit in order to supply lubrication to these bearings. Daily service is required. Please see the Ho-Pac lubrication procedure for details.

Each AR Series hammer is equipped with 1 (one) lubrication fitting. The lubrication fitting will be located on the front side of the hammer that faces the operator while seated in the carrier. The tool must be fully compressed into the hammer by the carrier during the lubrication process. Lubrication should be injected at 2-hour intervals or at any time that lubricant flow is not present on the shank of the demolition tool.

Aeroshell 6 is the "all purpose" grease used on all Hartzell new production propellers since 1989 except propellers installed on the Piaggio P180 and the Grob Egrett. Reference your propeller’s maintenance manual or contact Hartzell product support before using grease other than Aeroshell 6. You can, but they wouldn't last long. No matter how fluid the grease is, all greases use thickener (soap) to transport the lubricant to the lube point. And this thickener will build up inside the brushes and eventually clog the brush.

Do NOT use bearing grease on your carrier bearings or pinion bearings when setting up your differential. This could cause premature failure from the oil not having the ability to lurbicate the bearings properly. Use clean gear oil only to pre-lubricate your bearings during the install.

Your gun should be packed in a crash resistant plastic or metal case that locks. Do not go cheap on a traveling gun case. In the US, you will need to make sure you get to the airport early enough to have your gun inspected by TSA before it is placed on the airplane.

First, there is no way to sterilize piercing guns. Most guns are made of plastic and will melt under the extreme heat and pressure of an autoclave (the piece of equipment used to sterilize implements) and chemical sterilization has not been proven to kill all blood borne pathogens; this is extremely dangerous since fluid micro-spray (microscopic particles of tissue, blood and other body fluids) might be present on the gun after a piercing.
