Information Technology positions are defined as any job whose primary purpose is to develop, implement, and support IT systems. IT systems are considered any system whose primary purpose is to store, retrieve, process, manipulate, and/or transmit digital or digitized information.

Bentley develops students’ ability to apply information technology strategically. Hands-on professional research and critical thinking are integral elements throughout the curriculum. Our tax students make extensive use of specialized information technology resources available at Bentley.

There are a variety of career opportunities related to the career paths in Home Economics Careers and Technology. Many students enter successful and high paying careers in some of California’s major industries like Paramount's Great America, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hilton Hotels and Bongo Jeans. These same major industries reflect the highest and most rapid projected growth into the new century.

Home Economics Careers and Technology is the umbrella term for two programs that focus on preparing students with the skills for living and for earning a living. Taught in California middle and senior high schools, as well as the ROCP, career-related subject matter is integrated with academic content to prepare students for post-secondary education, entry-level employment and professional careers.

There are several ways to get information about careers and colleges, and the Counseling Office and the Career Center are the places to start. We have standardized test registration packets (SAT’s and ACT’s), a listing of average SAT scores for hundreds of colleges, and ACT/SAT score equivalent guide, and counselors who will be happy to sit down with you to discuss different college options. The Advising Office in the Department of Anthropology posts information about jobs and special events related to postgraduate employment on the Advising Office Student Information Bulletin Board. Faculty members provide guidance and write letters of recommendation. The University of Arizona Office of Career Services helps you explore your options. Advisors offer career counseling, provide information about jobs, and help with writing resumes and preparing for interviews.

Your Careers Adviser may take notes of the points discussed during your interview. In compliance with the Data Protection Directive 1998, you will have the right to see these notes if you wish and they will be stored in a secure place in the Careers Service and treated in confidentiality.

The Hutton Honors College suggests that students explore a wide variety of academic interests before definitively choosing a major. There are several resources which can aid students in making their decision, including the Career Development Center, and the University College Majors and Careers web page.

The Information Technology labs in the library are open the same hours as the library but close fifteen minutes before the library does. Computer labs elsewhere on campus may have different hours.

The Director of IT will review grants that involve technology for use within the district. Review of the grant projects will ensure that technology requested in grant programs will interface technology in place within the district, align with future technology plans and will be supported by the district's IT department.

Training Cafe, co-developed by Winstar and Macromedia, provides educators with technical skills they can integrate into both their professional and personal lives. Training Cafe's interactive courses use multimedia instruction, interactive practice, and assessment to help teachers learn a range of Web skills. Teachers can choose the lessons they need, from basic instruction on how to use a Web browser to more advanced lessons on how to use multimedia design tools to build Web sites.

The learndirect telephone help line offers impartial information and advice on learning and career opportunities, childcare, funding and guidance on provision. It is available free to all adults across the UK on 0800 100 900. The information and advice service is also available on-line (link below) where enquirers can search the learndirect database of learning opportunities or visit the learndirect advice centre for information on careers.

CILT, the National Centre for Languages has (with funding from DfES) developed Languages Work, a campaign to show the true value of languages in the workplace. Languages Work is also designed to help careers advisers and teachers to provide guidance on the use of languages at work and at play. ALL supports Languages Work, which has a a web portal and a range materials for use by learners and parents, teachers, lecturers and careers advisers.

There are two specific programs: Consumer and Family Studies and Home Economics Related Occupations. Consumer and Family Studies equips students with essential skills for living through instruction in eight [seven] content areas: child development and guidance; consumer education; family living and parenting education; fashion, textiles and apparel; food and nutrition; housing and furnishings; individual and family health; [and leadership development].

Actually, students do have an organization but it’s not referred to as a club. FHA-HERO is the co-curricular vocational student organization that offers leadership, citizenship and career development opportunities for Home Economics Careers and Technology students.

All the counselors are able to help you explore careers and the information that goes into career choice. We also offer a course, Psychology 102, which is especially designed to help you learn how to investigate careers, compare them with your own abilities and interests and how to make career and goal decisions. In addition, the Counseling department offers career interest tests and the resources of the Transfer/Career Center.
