It has been suggested that the quiet scratching sound that is heard when you drive off in the Touareg is part of the security system. Specifically, it may be the Immobilizer system reading the transponder in the key.

There are various ways to say the word Touareg. Volkswagen seems to have settled on a pronunciation that sounds a lot like "tour egg". Volkswagen's web site for the Touareg, which can currently be found at http://www.vw.com/touareg/mini/flash.htm has audio samples of different people saying the word Touareg.

The Touareg appears to be currently available in the following countries: UK, US, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and quite possible other counties.

In all Touaregs, the main battery is located under the driver's seat. In Touaregs with two batteries, the additional battery is located beneath the floor of the rear storage area, occupying the space that the spare tire would normally occupy.

If you are using a Creative Labs AWE 43 or 64 sound card, the audio playback quality will be poor if full-duplex mode is enabled. This is a condition caused by the Creative Labs Driver. The audio is recorded in 16-bit, but will only play back in 8-bit as long as the full-duplex mode is enabled. Once you make a recording, choose Options | Audio | Advanced and uncheck the "Enable Simultaneous Record/Playback" item.

kX Audio Driver fully supports GSIF specification. There are currently two GSIF driver sub-sets: VxD and WDM-based. Since kX Audio Driver is a WDM driver, it supports WDM GSIF only. Under certain circumstances, this causes certain compatibility problems with GSIF-aware applications (such as GigaStudio and GigaSampler), especially under Windows 9x / Millenium. I can only see the black screen/the graphics is messed up/the game says my video card is not VESA compatible/no SVGA card is found.

There is a workaround for this issue. If you don't have audio tracks assigned to the same output ports as your effects loop, you must have a "dummy" track in Cakewalk assigned to the same port as the effects loop instead. If you can't hear sound from your speakers, it means the speakers are not connected properly, the sound card isn't setup correctly, or the speakers could be defective.
