If your surface finished floors have not been waxed or oiled, re-coating is a great option to extend beauty and longevity. It takes less time, is significantly less expensive than re-sanding and creates less of a mess. If you re-coat your floors every few years, before the finish has worn through, you will prolong the life of the surface of your floor and reduce the need for re-sanding. Recoats fail more than any other process in hardwood floor work.

In the past painting companies took on the job of floor sanding, often reluctantly, as part of a bigger contract. Typically they hired machines and there was a rush to return them to keep costs down. The machine operators were painters who had little experience in floor sanding and even less enthusiasm for it. They used finishes which were cheap and fast drying many of these products containing known carcinogens. All these factors meant the customers wants and needs were not paramount.

During the coating, oil based polyurethane makes very strong odor and toxic vapour which will produce an asthma-like response. The floor also should be kept out from walked on for the period of the job. Therefore, we generally recommend not stay in site. But If you have no choise you can select non toxic waterbase polyurethane or natural oil and stay without walk on the job area.,

The Maltese coat takes about a year to grow to the floor, but then only with special care. You should use good shampoos and conditioners, bathing no less than once a week and as it gets longer maybe every 4 days. Some show breeders wrap the hair so it won't break, taking it out and rewrapping it every day or two. Some put the dog in oil or do both. FAQ Index

If your hardwood floor has been refinished by us previously and you have followed our cleaning and maintenance instructions, then yes this may definitely be an option. (This is of course assuming that the finish is not completely worn through and you aren’t concerned about removing most of the scratches.) In fact recoating your hardwood floors every few years is highly recommended.

It does have to be removed before installing a new floor. It does not if the floor is only going to be sanded. By using a machine called an "edger sander", we are able to sand close enough to the moldings without removing them.

When your floor begins to look worn, dull and/or scratched it may be time for a recoat or refinish. A simple test to indicate which process you need done, is to pour a tablespoon or two of water onto your floor. If the water beads, your floor is simply a little dirty or tarnished from wear and tear. The solution in this case is just some cleaning and stain removal or a recoat (read FAQ #19).

Depending upon the type of system utilized (indexing versus monorail) the overall footprint can be relatively small versus other coating systems. When smaller footprint systems are utilized the ware package (size of part) and annual production rate of the system can be constrained. Monorail systems typically will require significantly larger footprint due to the longer pretreatment system typically required for e-coat along with the electrocoat tank and post rinses.

When you sand a floor, you get to a new layer of wood, and unless the damage to the wood was too severe, you also sand out the imperfections. What you lose by sanding, is between 1/32 and 1/16 inch of wood thereby reducing the lifespan of your floor.

It is always best to brush a poodle and get all the tangles out before giving a bath. Once the hair is wet, it is more difficult to get the tangles out without cutting. There is a grooming tool called a mat breaker for those more difficult mats. If it is impossible to remove the mat without hurting the dog, lather up and bathe. Use a cream rinse or conditioner, and leave it in. Brush or comb the dog with the conditioner still in. Take your time, so as not to hurt the dog.

This will depend on exposure to the elements. South facing and, depending on location, east and/or west facing walls will require a clear maintenance coat every 3-5 years. Decks will require maintenance every 2-3 years.
