We offer over two hundred different combinations of plastic gravity rollers alone and each one can be requested in an infinite number of lengths. Complete gravity rollers are therefore not held in stock but are made quickly to order.

Many of our customers happily use our rollers and conveyors in food environments despite there being no British Standard to work to with regards gravity rollers in contact with food. Indeed, many users set their own standards which they are happy that our equipment passes. Most of our plastic gravity rollers are used at the end of line in the packing area and so are considered very suitable since they can be washed down.

We choose the best materials for the majority of applications that our equipment is used in. These materials are perfectly suited to ordinary use but where the environment includes chemicals, the effect of that chemical, even cleaning fluids, on gravity rollers is difficult to predict. Our material suppliers produce basic lists of suitability but they specify only certain fluids at certain concentrations and at certain temperatures.

Many of our customers regularly use our gravity rollers (as opposed to grooved/sprocketed rollers intended for this use) to support belts but if you do use them in this way you must remember; The bearings are only intended for intermittent rotation. Continuous rotation will reduce their life. Particular problems occur with heat build up in the races. If there is a precision bearing version of the roller - use that. Otherwise use a heavy duty bearing if available.

Mathematically, it is expressed by Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation which states that F = G *m1*m2/r^2 where G is the Universal gravitational constant, m1 is the mass of object 1, m2 is the mass of object 2, and r is the distance between the centers of gravity for both objects.

Our plastic gravity rollers have been developed over many years to allow free rotation, no lubrication and easy cleaning. These factors are achieved by using plastic races in the bearings which restricts the load rating and the mistreatment that they can sustain. Not all plastic rollers made by other manufacturers are the same although their rollers may look similar. Often there is a steel raced semi-precision bearing hidden behind the plastic end cap housing.

You may reserve any book, CD, DVD or language course that either appears in our catalogue or that you have come across elsewhere. If the item you want is on our catalogue, you can reserve it by either completing a reservation card, using a library catalogue PC or online. A fee is payable on all reservations made, although this is less if you do the reservation yourself via a library PC or the Internet.

Around 90% of everything on our site is in stock, and we are working on getting this to 100%. We deal with other brands, such as Atama, Kwon and Adidas, so sometimes deliveries on these items may take a little longer if we are waiting for orders to arrive. We will always endeavour to advise a delivery time, and, if you are not satisfied, you are always able to cancel the order for a full refund.

It depends. For many items it can be as little as 3 days, but for some items it can be several weeks. If you go ahead and place your order we will usually be able to tell you within 24 hours what the expected shipping date will be. That's because it reacts well to heat and will stay in position once set. This means you can easily achieve some truly creative styles and, if you wish, change your style at whim. For instance, wrap the fibre round your hand, give it a blast with the hairdryer and you'll achieve a beautifully natural wave.

It is important, but sometimes hard to get a handle on. Some companies count each individual wheel as a roller, while other companies, the more honest ones, count each individual moving part as a roller. If you have one roller arm with eight tiny wheels, that should be considered one roller, not eight. If a roller count sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Sooner or later all rollers change size, but poor shop practices and poor rollers speed up the process, requiring frequent stopping of the presses to make adjustments. In fact, shrinkage is the leading cause of roller resetting. Running with shrunk rollers leads to ink/water balance problems, color variation, and excessive downtime. Shrinkage can be caused by excess heat, usually from the settings being too high (see Roller Settings), from insufficient lubrication, or bad bearings.

Contrary to most people's thinking, the number of rollers required for proper compaction is based on the square yardage placed rather than the production or delivery tonnage. Roller speed should be limited to 3 mph. With this speed and the width of the roller, the coverage rate can be calculated. The width of paver pass and speed can give you the square yardage placed. The number of required coverages will then tell you the total area in square yards the roller must be able to cover.
