The ADA Library receives over 600 journals, including all dental titles that are indexed in MEDLINE. See Dental Journals for a complete listing.

The University Library shelves current journals separately in the current periodicals section of each library. Older volumes of journals are bound and shelved in the stacks of each library by call number. Current periodicals are on the second (main) floor of the Science & Engineering Library. Current periodicals are on the first floor (bottom floor) in McHenry Library. The call numbers for all journals can be found in CRUZCAT. Search for the journal by title.

The Serials Catalog lists all the holdings of the library in alphabetical order and by subject (i.e., education, nursing, etc.). Most of the journals are also located in the Online Catalog.

If the journal is not listed the Serials Catalog or in the Online Catalog, please check the Union List of Serials: Greater Springfield Massachusetts Area (online only) . It is arranged in alphabetical order. The library can request the article via Inter-Library Loan. Please leave ample time for Inter-Library Loan (between 10-14 days).

The Biology Library Print Journal List is a complete list of print journal subscriptions, and is available online.

In most of the OSU libraries, the journals are interfiled with the books. Log into the Catalog and do a title search on the name of the journal. To find the call number and library which owns a subscription to the journal you want. These journals are filed in the stacks just like a book. If you are looking for a current issue of the journal (usually less than a year old), most of our libraries keep these in a current periodical area.

The HS/HSL Online Catalog must be accessed to determine if the library has a particular book/journal or to determine what books/journals are available on a specific subject. For assistance using the HS/HSL Online Catalog, contact the Reference Desk at (410) 706-7996.

You'll find current print periodicals, bound volumes, microfiche and microfilm in the Periodicals Room on the library's lower level. Oesterle Library Student Assistants staff the Periodicals Desk and are always willing to help you find print or microform copies of articles. Most of the Periodicals Collection, however, is in electronic format.

Our library holds 100,000 journals/periodicals/books and over 300 subscriptions to online publications. Do a Journal Title search in NEWCAT. Type in the journal's full name, with all words in the title in exact order.

You do this via the library catalogue. You can look up a journal by title or get a list of electronic journals by going to the library catalogue and clicking on MORE OPTIONS. You can then click “Electronic Journals” which will display and alphabetical list of electronic journal titles. Alternatively, use the eJournals web page as a starting point.

The "list" is the McGill University Library Catalogue (MUSE). Check the Catalogue to determine if the journal you need is held at the Life Sciences Library, Osler Library, or at another McGill library. The Catalogue will also display the location and holdings of the journals held at the Libraries of the McGill Affiliated Health Sciences Library Consortium.

There is an A-Z list of full text electronic journals which can be browsed by title or by subject category, and a Guide to Using the A-Z list of full text electronic journals. There are also e-resources listed by subject or alphabetically which can be searched in various ways and provide access to journals, abstracts of journal articles or other material.

The library uses an OPAC which is an online catalog of materials owned by the library. The address for the OPAC is: http://apollo.pc.edu. Use it to identify and locate books, videos and other materials held. The library also offers electronic databases such as FirstSearch, JSTOR, ProQuestDirect, KYVL databases and EBSCOhost. Some of the databases are full text.

The Library subscribes to over 3,000 electronic journals that are available through A-Z. To access available titles link to the Intranet: Schaffer Library - Electronic Journals. Many of the Library's databases also provided links to subscription full-text articles. This information is available in the Library's online catalog, WebCat. A computer printout of a complete list of print periodicals can also be found near the WebCat workstation on the first floor and at the Circulation Desk.

Being faculty, staff member, student or visitor means that you have mostly free access to hundreds of websites that normally charge for access. You may access these systems by using the Library Proxy Service. ATTENTION: A change on August 25th, 2005, affects how you use the library proxy service. In an effort to stop using SSN numbers as part of library access, the Berkeley library now requires you to use a new way of logging in.

The library is organized with the Library of Congress Classification System. This means that it is organized by subject. Each book is given a call number that puts it near books of a similar subject matter. Past issues of journals that have been bound are shelved in with the books (some other libraries keep bound journals in a separate section).

No, there isn't. Keeping a printed list of journals we have is neither productive nor very useful. TOPCAT, our library catalogue keeps detailed records of all our journals. Journals are complicated things. We have thousands of subscriptions; some come daily, some weekly, some monthly, and some less frequently or even infrequently. They change names, add extra publications, and make all kinds of changes. A printed list would quickly be outdated and inaccurate.

Periodicals are magazines (Time), journals, (British Medical Journal) and newspapers (Duluth News Tribune). The periodical collection is located on the third floor where you will find magazines and journals collected since 2000. Older journals and magazines are shelved in the Library Annex - just off the second floor. Current newspapers can be found on the first floor. If you need a paper printed in the past month, go to the circulation desk.

You can reach the titles both through the Catalogue using the 'Simple Search' and the 'Search Builder' mechanisms, and through the browseable (browsable) list of Electronic journals. If you swant to look for our selection of e-journals in the Biological Sciences, enter 'biological science' in the topmost 'Search for' window, and ensure that 'Keyword anywhere' is selected in the 'Search in' window.

NCNM Library subscribes to various research databases and collections of electronic journals. Some of them are accessible only on campus computers. Others may be accessed anywhere with a valid user name and password. Current students and staff of NCNM may acquire a list of user names and passwords at the library circulation desk.
