The Artificial Life studies attempt to create and study systems that demonstrate many of the attributes we associate with life. Often this work was motivated by the frustration that biological systems are difficult to control and to obtain essential information as needed for quantitative analysis. And in the case of evolution, much of the early formation of life happened billions of years ago and the processes by which life first evolved is not available for study.

Artificial reefs fill a habitat need for some marine life - providing a place to find food, shelter and a place to attach to. Ideally, natural colonization occurs where artificial reefs do not "attract" organisms per se, but instead do not inhibit growth. Basically, the goal in an artificial reef is to allow growth, not inhibit it. The term "attract" indicates an active role on the part of the inanimate artificial reef, whereas they play more of a passive role.

Both Therapy and Life Coaching are approaches that involve a supportive relationship between a client and trained professional with the mutual purpose of helping the client achieve a more fulfilling life. While therapy may focus more on insight and understanding about the source of feelings and roadblocks to achieving your dreams, coaching will focus on action.

Life Coaching is not counselling! In many situations, a counsellor will look at your past to try to formulate a specific solution to a particular problem. Your coach will come to have an understanding of how your past has shaped your present, but the focus of Life Coaching is on where you are now and where you are aiming to be in the future.

There are, of course, major variations by country, but in general school days are longer than in the United States and classwork very rigorous. Students should expect to spend more time in class and to be assigned more homework than in American schools. Will I get credit for my Semester or Year abroad? Whether or not you receive credit for your study abroad experience and how much credit you receive depends on your individual American high school.

It is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. It is related to the similar task of using computers to understand human intelligence, but AI does not have to confine itself to methods that are biologically observable.
