While Clearinghouse books and videos are available in English only, certain role simulations are available in non-English languages, including Spanish, French, German, and others. If a particular role simulation is available in a non-English language, the available language(s) will be listed at the top of the webpage for that simulation.

Some publishing companies publish translations of the materials that are on the North Carolina adopted textbook list. These translations are not adopted and are not available from the Textbook Warehouse. The Textbook Adoptions Office collects information from publishers regarding foreign language materials that are available from the publisher. Very little in the way of family histories will be found in the archives. The DHR's work is centered on the recognition, protection, and management of the structures, districts, and sites that make up Virginia's cultural fabric. If genealogical information is contained in a file, it is only there to provide a fuller picture of the history behind the property. There are currently no "official" CDC translations of the VISs. Several states have translated them, however, and sharing of translations among states is encouraged. Projects or providers may translate the VISs into other languages. These do not have to be approved by CDC. (See "Where can I get the VISs," below.

You can translate the client portion of DocTera into any language. Login as Administrator to DocTera, go to Configure System, click on Language File then translate or modify each entry after the (=) equal sign. You may want to copy and paste the content of the entire Language File into NotePad or Word Pad for easier editing. We do not provide translated language files, it's up to the administrator to do the translation. You will also have to translate the language file for the applets.
