Chris decided to leave the band in March 2003 to go back to school to become a teacher, married Terri in October 2003 and became a father.

There were things about those groups I didn't like, and I didn't want to become part of a supergroup. I was beginning to dislike myself for what i was doing. I had no idea what I wanted to do, but i knew I was sick of rock, the business, and everything about it. I just wanted to get out." - peter gabriel.

He quit because he had different ideas about the band's future than Alex and Geddy did, and he just wasn't excited about playing in Rush any more. His diabetes were also a strong argument against extended tours. John's still around. I see John quite often. He gave up playing shortly after he left the band and went into bodybuilding.

During the sessions for The Wall, Richard Wright was basically forced out of Pink Floyd. One story holds that Waters had even gone so far as to threaten to destroy all the working tapes if Wright didn't leave. Another quotes David Gilmour as saying that Wright wasn't contributing much of anything, and hadn't been for a couple years, partially due to something of "a bad cocaine habit." He did play with the band on The Wall tour, but not as a full member of the band.

I left because of disagreements that would never have gotten resolved. I felt that it was best for the band and myself for me to depart.

Sami (V?nsk?) was the bassist for Nightwish from 1998 to early 2002, at which point Marco (Hietala) joined. There were personal reasons which only the band knows, but we know that Tuomas and Sami had problems agreeing on things. Tuomas speaks about this on the 'End of Innocence' DVD.

Chris has a younger brother and a sister, Amy and Daniel. Before his mother Sheila moved out, Chris, his parents, his maternal grandmother, and his two siblings all lived together in their trailer, but Chris sometimes slept in an adjacent small trailer they kept on their property. After Sheila moved out, Amy and Daniel stayed with Chris and his father and grandmother. But later, when Sheila left Kentucky, Amy and Daniel went with her.

CHRIS: This question is from our NASA Edge website. Here's his question. The shuttle uses a system of tiles to protect its underside during reentry. We've talked about that. Why not cover the bottom of the shuttle with a thick smooth surface of strong material instead or why not coat the bottom of the shuttle with a superficial disposable material that wears away during reentry? Sort of like an ablator.

According to a post on alt.music.genesis by Christian Gerhardts, Daryl left to join Phil's band full-time. Here's what Daryl had to say on the matter: A lot of things have changed inside Genesis and they wanted to play in the States at the same time Phil was playing in Europe. For me there was no chance to play with Genesis. To close the chapter Genesis was very hard for me. It always was a pleasureable thing. But also, I would miss Chester. So I would say that I miss Genesis in the 92 line-up.

Well, it's true. Drummer, Dave Rock and Rilo Kiley have sadly parted ways. The rest of us felt it was time to move on when some stuff came up that we couldn't resolve. This desicion has no impact on how any of us feels about Dave as a person. I love Dave Rock and wish him the best of luck in everything he does.

Jeff's last show was August 3rd, 2002---he decided to leave the band to work on his songwriting and is now married with a child, living in Alberta (I believe).

Shortly after New Years, 1968 (probably the 5th or 6th of January) David Gilmour was asked to join Pink Floyd. The original intent was for Dave to "shadow" Syd on stage, stepping in to cover for him whenever necessary. This didn't last very long, though. The band played as a five-piece for about four shows before deciding that they could do well enough without Syd. So one night, on the way to a gig, they simply didn't pick him up.

He and the band had different ideas about the direction the band was taking. Dean left to create a new band, Blackeyed Susan, and the remaining members joined Tommy Paris for the Bite Down Hard album.

After struggling at several local public schools, Chris and his family decided he should try the David School, which caters to troubled teens who have failed to thrive elsewhere. Tuition is drastically reduced for students who come from low-income homes. Randall, Chris's father, had also attended the David School for a few years. The David School's founder and director, Danny Greene, talks about Randall back then in his interview with FRONTLINE.

Pearl Jam formed in late 1990 after the demise of Seattle singer Andrew Wood which broke up his band, Mother Love Bone of which Ament and Gossard were members.

In elementary school, Chris was diagnosed with a behavior disorder that limited his functioning severely enough that he qualified for Social Security's Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. SSI provides economic support to disabled children like Chris who come from homes with limited income and resources. As long as he stayed in school and didn't work, Chris was qualified to receive SSI benefits until he turned 18.

Yes. Because of the severe health problems caused by his alcoholism, Randall qualified to receive monthly Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments

Pat left June 7th, 2003 and went home to Canada to his wife Christa and infant daughter Talia. He's pursuing a career in the medical field. Update 10/06 -- Pat is living in Saskatchewan, working as a realitor and he and Christa welcomed a son in Summer 2006. Congratulations!

The following is excerpted from an interview with Warren by Mandy Jones for Cyndi Glass' fanzine, Privacy, March/April 1995 issue: W: "It just didn't work out...He did write some stuff with us, but it wasn't really his forte. He wasn't around at the beginning of the last album and we were working so fast. It was nice to work without drums, as writers it was a lot easier to write without a drummer. Nothing personal to him. And also I think it was a bit of too many cooks, that stuff comes into it.

Tommy was with the band from the beginning, and drummed on their first three studio albums. Tommy's last show was May 4, 1978, at CBGB in New York. Tommy left under amiable terms, citing a dislike of touring and desire to be a producer. He returned to produce the albums Road to Ruin and Too Tough To Die.

Richie's joined the band in 1983 and played his first show on February 13 in Utica, New York. Richie quit the band unexpectedly after a show in Easthampton, N.Y., on August 12, 1987. The Ramones were forced to cancel three shows. The book Ramones: An American Band, by Jim Bessman, states that Richie may have quit over a disagreement over pay, but does not give any details. Bessman also writes that "not surprisingly, none of the remaining Ramones speak favorably of Richie."

Jim left because he had always been considered a temporary drummer. He learned to play the drums for Veruca Salt. He was the frontman of a band called Ultraswiss before he joined Veruca Salt. He left to go return to Ultraswiss as a singer/guitarist.
