Prior to collecting a stool specimen come to our facility to obtain instructions and appropriate containers. Most specimens will need to be refrigerated.

A specimen is a real-world example of how the mark is actually used on the goods or in the offer of services. Labels, tags, or containers for the goods are considered to be acceptable specimens of use for a trademark. For a service mark, specimens may be advertising such as magazine advertisements or brochures. Actual specimens, rather than facsimiles, are preferred. However, if the actual specimens are bulky, or larger than 8½" x 11", then the applicant must submit facsimiles, (e.g.

Several of the components of White Bites treats are white in color, including Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate), Calcium carbonate, and the white food coloring Titanium Dioxide. Other ingredients in the White Bites treats (such as Wheat Gluten and Sodium Caseinate) are light colored. All of these combined can lighten the color of your dog's stools. This is perfectly natural and safe, however, as all of the ingredients used in White Bites treats are considered safe for humans and animals.

Depending on what your dog has presently been eating, stool size ins generally much more compact and odorless than when a dog has been fed processed pet foods. This is because our BARF diet contains no extra or unnecessary fillers or grains. Fillers and grains are much harder to digest and thus are eliminated from the body without being utilized- thus causing a more voluminous stool. The stool color may vary somewhat depending on which protein source is being fed.

Bloody stool is caused by a problem somewhere in your digestive tract. There could be many causes of bloody stool. The first step is to determine where the bleeding is occurring. This is done by observing the color of the blood. Bright red bloody stools are often an indicator that the bleeding is near the anus. Darker blood suggests that the problem is farther up the digestive tract.

Some tests may have special requirements. Within each test description, there will be a notation if there is a specific specimen requirement.

Once thawed, a specimen should always be used in its entirety. If you refreeze a specimen, many more of the sperm will be killed. Use the whole specimen, as the sperm will live longest in your internal environment of the upper reproductive tract. Don't panic. We do check and re-check each and every shipment for completeness. We normally ship one vial per cane unless room in the dewar requires multiple vials per cane.

These steps and supplies have proven to be effective in preventing urine and stool from staining the cast: Place a POISE Bladder control pad front to back around the baby's bottom and up under the cast. In the young infant who is less than 1 year, it should just reach the top of the cast. Next, fit a small diaper (in young infants the newborn size fits well) under the cast and tucked around the sides. It is important to check/change the diaper frequently.

Believe it or not, mucousy stools can appear any time, no matter how long one has been BARFing, and is generally no reason for concern. When first starting BARF, this may be a sign that the digestion track is ridding the junk out of it's system (normal part of detox). Mucousy stools can also be related to feeding dairy products. If you are feeding dairy, try cutting them out for a few days and see if this was the culprit. It can also mean an inflammation of the intestinal track.

Iron is commonly included in prenatal vitamins as a woman's requirements increase during pregnancy due to increased red blood cell formation. Tapeworms segments or fly maggots are often mistaken for grains of rice. You should bring in a stool sample that contains the rice-like material. Also, a complete physical examination of the pet is often helpful.

Mild stomach irritation happens occasionally. Take B5 in lower amounts and at greater frequencies if this happens. Try to take it with food. If it persists reduce the amount of B5 taken per day. Again, the body tends to adjust to this, and the stomach irritation fades over time.

The laboratory tests one bottle (the A specimen) and one bottle (the B specimen) is kept unopened in secure storage. The employee can ask to have this second bottle (the B specimen) retested. No. The laboratory pours some urine out of the bottle for the tests. Nothing is added to the specimen in the bottle.

Several study protocols state the sample size and how many aliquots need to be sent. These instructions should be followed very closely. For those protocols that do not state sample size, a minimum of two 2-ml aliquots of each sample type, sera, plasma, urine, other, should be sent. Do Not send the actual unprocessed blood samples or urine specimen cups!

Getting a stool sample should not be difficult. Only a small amount is required for testing. Simply scoop up an amount equal to 1/4 teaspoon and place it in a small jar or plastic bag. Keep it in a cool place if you plan to keep it later into the day or the following morning. Your pet´s temperature should be taken in his rectum with a lubricated rectal thermometer. Insert if only 1/3 of the way in and leave it for at least 1 minute.
