I actually used a script that I wrote myself to digitise my route. It displays a Google map, and when I click on the map, it displays the longitude and latitude of the resulting point in a format I can copy out and paste into a text file. I then apply a few regular expressions to the file, and out pops a Google Maps XML file, as well as a Google Earth KML file. This system proved to be in tune with my needs – it pays to be a programmer sometimes!

Google Earth allows you to view satellite photos, maps, geographic terrain and 3D models of buildings from around the world. Plus, Google has partnered with several content providers to give users even more information about popular and interesting places, and AIA is now one of those providers.

Both NASA World Wind and Google Earth are sophisticated programs with amazing feature sets, and they both have features that the other would benefit from. Despite how similar both programs seem they are not entirely comparable due to significantly different focuses, development history and philosophies. Many people use both programs depending on what they wish to accomplish.

Like the Google Earth support, there's no requirement to also load and georeference images, i.e. you can use it to show only tracklogs.

No, the Tour d'Afrique Race/Expedition is a 'self-guided tour with support'. Directions will be given each morning, but the riders are expected to be independent and responsible for their own well being. The Tour is set up in a way that provides reasonable support and safety. This includes a midday check point and the retrieval of all riders one hour before darkness.

Note that Terrabrowser was created before Google Earth existed and might not have been written otherwise. Bearing that in mind Terrabrowser offers... Lightweight browsing - Terrabrowser won't hog your CPU like Google Earth. Of course, there aren't any 3D effects either...

Blueprint for America is a series of community service efforts funded by the AIA, in which AIA members donated their time and expertise to collaborate with community leaders and local citizens to address issues such as homelessness, sustainable communities, and downtown revitalization. First, you must have a copy of Google Earth saved to your computer. To download Google Earth, go to http://earth.google.com. Follow the download instructions and open the Google Earth software. The AIA layers are located under Featured Layers, which you will find in the left navigation pane entitled "Layers." Click Featured Layers and the AIA layer will automatically appear.

In Google Maps, under “Map - Satellite”and next to “Print - Email” you will see a “Link to this Page”. Right click on that and “Copy Link Location”. Paste it in, and you’re done.

Google Maps is an excellent application for generating maps, point-to-point driving directions and satellite photographs. PowerWEB Zoom shares some of the pan and zoom functionality, but is a general purpose image viewer, not limited to maps. Also, Zoom is used as an ASP.NET server control and does not require any javascript coding or external APIs to function. Yes, PowerWEB Zoom functions under ASP.NET 1.0, 1.1, and 2.

Once again, the South American Explorer's Club offers paper maps, both of Machu Picchu and of the Inca Trail. For online maps, there's a good map of the Inca Trail at Infoperu, as well as my own map of the Inca Trail on this site. Wholeo Online books have a sketch map of Machu Picchu, and there's a more precise but unlabelled map available as part of an article about a multimedia feature on Machu Picchu.

this time, Google Maps has better world-wide coverage than Windows Live Local, but Live Local offers a great Birds-eye view (taken from a low-flying plane) that can get some amazing detail. Yahoo Maps is still in beta, but looking good.

I am not sure that I am even aware of a ‘route’ that I have taken ,other than that of performing, being fortunate enough to find audiences who enjoyed what they heard, and being asked as a result to perform again.

Well, at school in year 7 we had table groups, and we had to come up with a name. Ours was really long (thought up by me! :D) but for security reasons, I cannot tell you what it is ;~; . Anyway, our logo was a cookie in a blender. I called it "A crunchie in a blender." I loved that name, and when I created this site, I immediately thought of "Crunchieinablender.com."

The oldest dinosaur types are known from rocks in Argentina and Brazil and are about 230 million years old in the Triassic Period. One of the earliest known primitive dinosaurs was Eoraptor ("dawn hunter") a fast-running, one-metre long carnivore. Because Eoraptor's skeleton shows some advanced skeletal features, older dinosaurs may yet be found.
