Draft rec.boats.cruising FAQ
My name is David Dennis, and I'll be very up front about this: I have virtually no cruising experience, an attribute that would seem to disqualify myself completely and utterly from FAQ writing or maintenance. What I've discovered over the years, though, is that one of the best ways to learn and accumulate knowledge and eventually become an expert is to write a FAQ. And, since I'm an inverterate reader, I know quite a bit more than one might think.

I've been in this fabulous business for 27 years and for the first 17 of those years, I ran a colour-only service. I have always been an independent and have developed my own approach to colour analysis, treating people in the way I like to be treated - as an unique individual. Over the years I have trained lots of wonderful consultants face to face. I've developed my own way of teaching and have designed this course for independent free thinkers who want to run their own business.

When was TINA written?

TINA [faq]
Development of the X11 based versions of Tina started in 1989 at AIVRU in the University of Sheffield. Old versions of libraries are still to be found at our previous web sites.

What is the relation between DSM-CC and TINA?

DSM-CC FAQs ver 1.0
Although there is no formal relationship between DSM-CC and TINA, DSM-CC and TINA are built on similar precepts. DSM-CC U-U and TINA use IDL for common object concepts defined by OMG. The session concepts in DSM-CC U-N and TINA are similar, however TINA does not provide the protocol specifics or the state machines. There are two main components of DSM-CC, U-N and U-U. Equivalence can be drawn between U-N and RSVP on the one hand and U-U and RTSP, RTP and SCP on the other hand.

No one knows. The four canonical gospels and Thomas and other gospels such as the Gospel of Philip (found at Nag Hammadi) were given their names some time in the second century. Scholars of the New Testament generally agree that none of the gospels were written by people who had ever met Jesus of Nazareth during his lifetime. But at a later date names were assigned to them that were associated with famous individuals in the earliest church.
