The LynxONE has no connector for an internal CD-ROM drive. We recommend using digital audio extraction software to capture the audio from your CD’s and saving it to your hard disk drive as .WAV files. This way there is no additional Digital to Analog and Analog to Digital process and the full resolution of the audio is maintained. If your CD-ROM/DVD drive can reliably extract digital audio then you may be able to use Windows Media Player 7.

Computer Doctor: Depending on what type of drive you have, the laser lens may be difficult to access. As a first step, try a cleaning CD sold in music departments. A cleaning CD has a series of soft brushes on the data side which can sweep away dust from the lens. In order to avoid the change of a CD-ROM drive, the parameter ?s <number of the drive> can be used to skip ad drive. To do so check the output of LOCKCDR. Only MULTIREAD CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives can read CD-RW media. Standard CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives cannot read the low-reflectance media used in CD-RW discs.

SimpliCD Software by Oak Technology can use the Plextor CD-RW drive as a source to record CD+G discs to the hard drive as an image file, and then record the image back to a blank disc in the Plextor CD-RW drive.
