First, please check your child out during the day only when it is absolutely necessary. Believe it or not, we have so much to teach that instruction must go on until the very end of the day. You can help by making appointments after school hours whenever possible and avoid checking out a child simply as a convenience factor. However, if you do need to check your child out of school, you must do this through the office.

You are charged a late fee. If a parent is consistently late, he/she may be asked to find alternate care for their child. Please see your handbook for our policies.

Teachers appreciate you sending a note to them that day letting them know what time you will be picking up your child. You must report to the office where you will sign them out and the office staff will call the student to come to the front office.

All traffic is to enter at the south entrance in the right lane only. At no time should anyone enter in the left lane (exit). It is illegal to make a right turn from the through traffic lane into the exit at anytime. Those who continue to make a right turn out of the through traffic lane into the exit may be ticketed. Parents are not to enter the staff parking lot to drop off/pick up students. Parents should proceed through the parking lot and pull to the right curb to drop off students.

If your child has been prescribed a medication by his/her doctor that needs to be taken during the school day, please notify the school immediately to fill out the appropriate paperwork. This also pertains to any type of medication that may be prescribed for mild or severe allergic reactions. Your child is NOT permitted to carry prescription drugs on campus. Any prescription drugs will be held in the Nurse's office to be given out only at the prescribed time or when necessary.

A1. You may come to our studio at your leisure, please call and make an appointment. If you want the new photo to make it in the yearbook , you must come within 3 days of the re-take. A2. If your child is not going to be at school on the first day, notify the school in writing. If the school does not know your plans, a space will only be held for your child for 2 days for an elementary school and 5 days for a secondary school. The giving of any medication during school should be kept to a minimum. All medications (including medicines prescribed by a physician, patent/over-the-counter drugs including aspirin) are kept in a locked cabinet and properly labeled. Written permission from a parent/guardian and family physician is required. Contact the schools nurse if you require this service. Children requiring medication during school hours should not be allowed to transport medication to school.

If you have a message to give your child, PLEASE contact the office BEFORE 12:00 noon. If messages are in by this time, the teachers have time to pick them up before returning to class from lunch recess. Voice mail is available for all school employees. Please see enclosed directory for instructions on how to contact your child's teacher or other staff members. Cell phones are allowed on campus but must remain in students' backpacks during class time.

Very little, really. They should have a packed lunch or lunch money, but the rest will come in time. Teachers will supply a list of needed items during the first few days. Waiting for the list will help you avoid unnecessary and sometimes costly purchases. Secondary students will want to have a pen and something to jot down notes on that first day. It's also a good idea for children to have an extra 35 cents in case they need to contact you.

Pupils are expected to be prepared and equipped for each lesson. This means that they should bring appropriate books and jotters for the lessons to be studied that day, pens, pencils, ruler, calculator and any specialised equipment such as PE Kit. Pupils should be equipped with a sturdy bag to carry books and jotters which can be easily damaged if not cared for appropriately.

The school is aware that pupils in the middle and senior school frequently have to carry a substantial number of books and jotters to and from school each day. To assist with this, pupils in S3 - S6 may have a locker to store their belongings in during the day. No. The Tiger Pride can not provide for sick children. We are concerned for the helath and welfare of each child; therefore, if your child becomes ill, we require they be picked up as soon as possible.

Most likely yes. Much depends on where your child falls on the spectrum, but with your support, as well as that of doctors, therapists and teachers, your child should be able to attend school. In fact, it's his right: According to the Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1990, which mentions autistic children specifically, your child deserves access to a “free and appropriate” education funded by the government, whether it be in a mainstream or special education classroom.

Most schools have a no-nit policy to control head lice outbreaks. Generally, when you have completed one pediculicidal treatment & one olive oil treatment (or two olive oil treatments) and a thorough nit combing and manually removed all nits, you can send your child back to school. At this point, there should be nothing left on the head that is capable of moving onto another head. However, this does not mean your child is lice free.

Orientation Evening / Curriculum Night is held as part of the first Family Meeting. Parents meet with teachers in the classroom to discuss the year's curriculum. Family conferences are scheduled twice a year, and twice yearly parents receive a report describing their child's progress. Additional meetings with staff may be scheduled by leaving a message with the school office or asking a teacher to call. A school newsletter, which includes a detailed calendar of events, is distributed monthly.

Students do not need to be kept out of school. The student with TB is being treated and will return to school when no longer able to spread TB. Students who have had TB in the past or latent TB do not need to be kept home as they cannot spread TB. Only students with active TB in the lungs need to be kept home until treatment has been started and are no longer able to spread TB.
