Chaos is apparently unpredictable behavior arising in a deterministic system because of great sensitivity to initial conditions. Chaos arises in a dynamical system if two arbitrarily close starting points diverge exponentially, so that their future behavior is eventually unpredictable. Weather is considered chaotic since arbitrarily small variations in initial conditions can result in radically different weather later. This may limit the possibilities of long-term weather forecasting.

This is the name given to the critical point of the system, where a small change can either push the system into chaotic behaviour or lock the system into a fixed behaviour. Up till now, all I've been focusing on are the philosophical aspects of Sorcery. The techniques are different. A Chaos Sorcerer's ritual includes making up a personalized sigil and then implanting that sigil in a Psychonaut fashion. My brand of Sorcery involves both the old fashioned techniques coupled with some of the new technology out there. I don't know, but they look pretty goofy. Maybe that's what happened when that particular group of dwarfs started turning towards Chaos. Perhaps it's a social convention -- the more important you are, the bigger your dorky-looking hat. If that's the case, the High Elves have them beat.

Chaos theory is based on the premise that there is no defined order in the universe. The universe reacts rather than is influenced by any order. Undefined order is not chaotic, it is simply undefined. This theory has profound implications for religion as it means there is no God to order the structure. Thus there is not purpose to the structure. From this we get a relative morality. What ever is expedient is ethical. There are no moral absolutes.

To play Reign of Chaos, there must be both a target land and a target creature in play. Just like with any spell or effect, you have to have all the legal targets to cast the spell or activate the effect. If only one target remains when Reign of Chaos resolves, Reign of Chaos still destroys the other target. Again, just like any other spell or effect, once the spell is successfully cast or activated, it will generate as many of the effects as it can.

Players in Chaos are assumed to be buying zero expansion tokens and play order is determined in the usual fashion. Alchemists Gold, Civil War, and War! could not be played against a chaosed nation since they target a player and the player is no longer in the game. Pirates/Vikings and Rebellion could target the provinces of the chaosed nations since their target is provinces, not players. Yes, the played cards are still applicable on the turn that a player chaosed out of the game.
