I am getting married and would like to make your Regency gown with a train. I'm going to try to use another part of a pattern but it would be cool if you either showed how to add it on your site or maybe could make a new pattern with a train, specificall I am a litle confused about the Regency Gown lining/optional thing. There are front, back, and back lining pieces. The front says "lining optional" and the back lining piece says optional.

More important than what brand you buy, is to get the machine from a dealer that you like and trust. Most sewing machine dealers will bend over backwards for the customers that bought their machine from them. Look for free classes, warranties, extended service, and trade-up policies. Be sure to take a project into the store and play with the prospective new (or used) machine. If the shop won't let you touch the machine, go elsewhere to buy.

The sewing order of a design can be check and changed. The sewing order is assigned in the same order the colors are assigned. The best method is arranging the colors is from lightest to darkest. Using a pem file, assign colors to the design. Select "Sewing Order", then "First", then "Next". The screen will display the colors in the order they will be sewn. To reassign colors in a different order, assign the colors in the reverse order that it will be sewn.

You need a machine that can do straight stitch and zig-zag. That's it! Anything else is frills (nice to have, but not required). We use zig-zag to satin stitch (close zig-zag) the appliqué (use an open toed foot) and straight stitch to do the machine quilting (use a darning foot with the feed dogs up!). I use a Bernina Artista 165E and I love it. I got it after having the same Viking Husqvarna since I was 18 (I still love that machine.) you can read about my Bernina here. Sewing Machines are also subject to personal preference. I use Bernina Sewing machines and have done for as long as I could afford to! The Bernina 1230 (No longer in production) is my favourite, and I use her for the best Satin Stitch results. I have produced a Mind Map about needles which hopefully will help explain the various needles available. The Universal needle is a "one size fits all" - has a slightly rounded tip and with push the fabric fibres aside. If you do not want this to happen use a shaper needle such as a Jeans/Denim 70 or 80 or Quilting Needle. Alwas buy the best machine needles you can - I use Schmetz needles always - mostly a Topstitch 90 or the Jeans denim in sizes 70 and 80.

The workers are primarily adult and young adult women. or the most part we design our own T-shirts. The CD's that come with the books are all multi formats, which means that any kind of embroidery machine can use the designs. All formats are included except the new VIP format from the Viking and Pfaff software. But one of the best things about this software is that it too, is multi formatted. Which means it reads everything.

Experienced quilters are split on this issue and in the end this is a personal choice. The main reason for washing fabric before it is cut and sewn is to prevent shrinkage after stitching. Good fabric has little shrinkage and many quilters who piece by machine prefer not to prewash their fabrics. If there is a little shrinkage later on, they feel it helps hide their machine stitches!
