MATLAB wasn't designed to be used this way. But, if you don't reference any variables between your calls to 'dbup' and 'dbdown' (i.e., you just use 'save', 'who', 'dir', etc), it should work. Otherwise, you may well run into problems. If you 'dbup' while in a function, you change the workspace context while continuing execution of the original function. This means that subsequent references to variables will be bound to variables in a different workspace.

However, there are some large issues that every organization must address. These are beyond the scope of IFPUG counting practices. The Support Contacts feature in @winXS allows you to send e-mail to pre-defined recipients. Your administrator must also establish a list of e-mail recipients. The MUTING function has been introduced to solve the application need to temporally deactivate one or more beams of the safety device, enabling the material passage through the dangerous area. The MUTING is activated by means of the safety device inputs, typically guided by external photoelectric sensors; moreover the safety device has to be connected to the muting signalling lamp, that signals the muting activation and avoids the protection intervention.

This function allows to force a machinery stop, due to material present in the dangerous area after the MUTING function.
