Most of the communities and organizations throughout the state of Florida that have written successful USEPA grant proposals maintain membership with the FBA. Yes, if the proposal is extremely strong and provides a compelling reason to fund a proposal above the upper limit, EPA may select that grant. Not always; grants involving human or animal subjects must be processed through RGP. Most foundation grants can be processed through RGP, however, several major foundations have been cultivated by UFF and will need to be processed through UFF rather than RGP. In March 2002, the El Camino Hospital Board assigned a committee to develop a proposal that would ensure a seismically safe hospital and would detail enhancements that would create pioneering new approaches to patient comfort, convenience and safety. In addition, El Camino Hospital selected an architect, general contractor, engineering firm and a project manager to provide expert guidance in this process.

In short, time and money are the two distinguishing factors between small grant proposals and large grant proposals. Projects that require up to $100,000 and are projected to take 12 months or less require small grant proposals. These projects do not require you to submit a brief proposal first. Large grant proposals are for projects requiring $100,000 or more and/or projected to take longer than 12 months.
