There are many resources available that provide information on writing a business plan. Libraries, the Internet, and nonprofit organizations that specialize in this area are excellent resources. This booklet also contains some information on organizations that provide a variety of services, including creating a business plan. In a writing assistance session, you meet individually with a tutor. Our tutors are able to help you with all aspects of writing your paper, from the brainstorming process to the final draft revision. Our tutors do not “proofread” papers, rather they assist you in deciding on the content of the paper and organizing your ideas into a well-written paper.

Appointments for writing assistance can be made via telephone (438-7100) or in person at the UCLA reception desk, 133 Stevenson Hall, during our regular business hours, Mon – Thurs, 8:30 am – 7 pm and Fri, 8:30 am – 2 .pm.

Absolutely! It's what we do best (based on past student surveys) and is included in every course in the form of audio and video (where applicable) lectures, sample answers and workshops for Essays and Performance Tests. In addition, students in the Mentored and Premium Mentored courses receive one on one telephone conferences about their writing with the owner of Celebration Bar Review, Jackson Mumey. No other course in the country provides this high level of individual writing attention!

The college does not have a grant writer; however the ORGS will arrange to have a grant reviewed internally. If necessary the ORGS will have grant applications reviewed external to MSU before submission to a federal agency or other organization. The ORGS will provide honorary for external reviewers when necessary and appropriate. Periodically on-site training sessions and workshops are planned in the college to enhance grant writing skills of faculty.

As experienced professionals with graduate degrees, LSC Writing Specialists offer a variety of assistance to UCDavis students with writing assignments across the curriculum. In individual appointments, we can help you understand the assignment or prompt and offer strategies for brainstorming, prewriting, organizing, developing, and revising your essay or term paper.

A "Proposal Writer's Short Course" http://www.fdncenter.org/learn/ is an excellent, basic primer on grantwriting. "Grantwriting Suggestions" by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting http://www.cpb.org/grants/grantwriting.html is also an excellent basic guide. The OSPR staff can also provide individual and group training in proposal writing.
