If you have a recent version of either MS Windows (Windows 2000 or XP) then go to the international settings in the control panel and add Asian/Japanese Language support. Older systems (Windows 95, 98, ME) require quite a bit of tinkering to get Japanese to work properly. Time to upgrade! To display Polish text, you will need an ISO-8859-2 character set compatible browser and at least Windows 95. Certain settings need to be activated in the options for correct function. I have tried all kinds of tricks with Windows 3.1, but to no avail. Creating pages with Polish characters in them is far more difficult if you do not have Central European language options enabled.
