You can get involved with the Freelaw project run by the School of Law. Students operate on a roster basis to offer a weekly free legal advice session for local residents. It offers the students a chance to see how legal problems occur and it gives the clients access to advice. The project works on a drop-in basis, and is essentially a legal first aid post. Advice is given on a vast range of legal problems - from housing to consumer problems, from family to employment difficulties.

We launched our Giving Back and Volunteering scheme in 2005. We now have projects under way with 10 charities, in some cases assisting fundraising efforts, but also lending our consulting expertise to organisations that need it.
