Stucco (acrylic or cementitious) is adhered directly to the foam. Wood, plastic or metal cladding is mechanically fastened to the imbedded plastic ties. Stone and brick are attached according to design specifications.

Metallic glazes were designed for interior use. If several coats of McCloskey Man O War Marine Spar Varnish are used, exterior applications are possible. Please note that Spar Varnish is very yellow/amber in color and may change the look of some colors.

Exterior masonry facing materials are compatible with am-cor? construction. am-cor? frame panels can be supplied with brick clips at 2'-0" o/c. While the unified cement coating is preferred for durability and appearance, cement board siding may be applied using self-tapping bugle head screws supplied with your am-cor? PAK. Standard exterior elements such as quoins, keystones and other ornamental trim may be applied or formed by layering successive amcorite? coats onto the facade.

Virtually any type of siding may be applied to the exterior surface of a wall SIP. Some common materials include a variety of vinyl siding, aluminum siding, and kiln dried wood sidings to include clapboard, shiplap, board and batten, and shingles. Exterior finishes should always be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended installation instructions. When applying exterior finishes, a layer of house wrap or felt paper should first be applied over the SIPs.

FORMTECH ICF blocks can accept any type of interior or exterior finishes, including stucco. Finishes can be easily attached to the embedded strapping at 8" intervals with non-corrosive, self-tapping screws. No vapor or air barrier is required.

Use a stripper designed for aircraft use on aluminum. One such product is SV-35/AC or RemovAll 210, manufactured by Napier Environmental Technologies. It is easy to use – you just paint or spray it on and hose it off. It's classified as non-hazardous. One supplier is Aircraft Spruce. Napier also privately brands this product, and it is marketed by ICI Paints as Hydrostrip 502, and also under the Crown label. It's available in 1 and 5 gallon sizes.

On new homes the two coats of colored stain should be applied immediately after the roof is on, the windows have been installed and the logs cleaned prior to any chinking, if it is a chink style home, to prevent coloring the chinking.
