Yes. All classrooms have Internet access thanks to passage of Proposition O, a school modernization project. Each classroom will have up to seven networked computers. Students also have access to a networked computer lab in the library/media center. Students use the computer to learn keyboarding skills and use as a tool to conduct research and complete projects. The availability of technology has been very much the same as before demolition. Two new computer labs were created; services in the portables are the same as the brick and mortar classrooms.

The Lucidity Institute offers electronic devices that help people have lucid dreams. They were developed through laboratory research at Stanford University by LaBerge, Levitan, and others. The basic principle behind these devices is as follows: the primary task confronting someone who wishes to have a lucid dream is to remember that intention while in a dream. One of the best ways to increase a person's chances of having a lucid dream is to give a reminder to the person during REM sleep.

Magic Touch is made by resistive technology and it will soon be available with capacitive technology. The resistive technology is the most popular one because it provides the highest touch resolution, fastest touch response and can be activated by anything. Capacitive technology requires skin contact to operate. Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) technology is sensitive to moisture. Infrared (IR) technology has very low resolution and is sensitive to ambient light, flying insects, etc.

Currently the computer General Access Labs (GCA) have an adaptive technology station that consists of: computer, monitor, scanner, printing capabilities, speakers and software programs. The software programs are: Kurzweil 3000 for students with learning disabilities, Kurzweil 1000 for students with visual impairments, and JAWS for Windows for all students with print disabilities. The Kurzweil programs are a scan/read program that will scan typed material and read it to the student.

Students receive instruction for using hardware and software such as braillewriters, talking calculators and dictionaries, abacus, slate and stylus, and devices for the activities of daily living.

The Vein center of Texas we offer in-office surgical repair of abnormal veins in the legs. We utilize high resolution, color ultrasound in both diagnosis and treatment of this serious vein disorder. In addition, we utilize a new high tech instrument called the “Vein Viewer”. The Vein Viewer allows us to see through the skin to otherwise hidden veins.
