It depends on where you hold your meetings, what time of day, how many children, how old are the children, etc. We encourage you to make children a priority because they will most likely be facing their own issues due to a deployment or separation. You may even start your own youth committee which can arrange for special activities or events for children during your FRG meetings.

The meeting atmosphere should be free of distractions. Arrangements for childcare are made with this in mind. Some Teams have tried various shared babysitter arrangements. It generally does not work to have all the children in the same home as the meeting--nor can any of the Team members do the babysitting. The T.O.O.L. movement is for couples.

We do ask that you not attend any events if your child has a fever, cold or runny nose (unless due to allergies or teething) within the 24 hours before a scheduled event. We do have a monthly Moms Night Out when we encourage our moms to get out of the house by themselves; it's a time to get to know other moms and enjoy uninterrupted adult conversation. Nursing babies are always welcome to any activity or meeting.

When a subdivision is new or just handed over to the residents, interest will be very high and people will be involved. As a few years go by, the only people at the meetings will be the trustees and a handful of residents. In one respect, it's a tribute to a job well done by the trustees. The homeowners are happy and they don't reason to pay attention. Everything's being handled well.
