Why is Gameday using up so much of my CPU?

Gameday: Gameday FAQ - April 13, 2007
This is a major concern for us and we are taking steps to make Gameday less resource-intensive on your computers. The first step is the addition of an "Options" button in the upper right hand corner of the window, which allows you to enable or disable the 3D pitch illustrations and other animated features in the interface. Selecting the "2D" and/or "Less" options will significantly reduce the processing power required by Gameday.

Why is the System Idle Process using 99% of my CPU?

The Broadband Reports Windows XP FAQ - dslreports.com
This process is a single thread running on each processor, which has the sole task of accounting for processor time when the system isn't processing other threads. In Task Manager, expect this process to account for the majority of processor time. The system idle process uses all the CPU time that is not used by anything else. CPU time is like any other time; you can't not use it. If you do nothing, you're still using time: you are using time to do nothing.

Can I use the HSP modem on a motherboard using a Cyrix CPU instead of a Pentium?

HSP PCTEL FAQ
This product was marketed as a product for use in systems with a true Intel Pentium-100 or faster CPU running Windows 95 only! Our initial tests using the driver designed for the Pentium showed that the HSP modem would not perform on a Cyrix 686 - 150. All of the system's resources would be used just to establish and maintain the connection, leaving no resources left over. The chipset maker has released a driver that performs better when used with CPU's other than Intel's Pentium.

Yes! The Resource Management model being hierarchical, the first thing to do is to assign a number of shares to each non-global zone ( See 5.1 ). Within the non-global zone, the non-global zone administrator may now create projects in the standard way to differentiate between workloads running in the same non-global zone. Under Windows 98, using windrvr.vxd, the Performance Monitor shows 100% CPU usage. Why is this?

FAQ Section - Support for WinDriver, KernelDriver, DriverBui...
This is a bug in the Windows 98 Performance Monitor. Do not be alarmed. windrvr.vxd (or windrvr6.vxd - in newer versions) does not actually fully engage the CPU. You can confirm this by launching several applications and observing that their performance is not affected by WinDriver's presence, even when the CPU usage is shown to be 100%. This problem does not occur when using windrvr.sys (or windrvr6.sys) instead of windrvr.vxd (/windrvr6.vxd).
