In previous years we had students complete action research studies, submit articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals., write substantial grant proposals, author books, complete curriculum projects, and pursue National Board certification. We are extremely supportive of students who pursue National Board certification as their culminating experiences.

The common thread among all students majoring in entertainment management is their love to be around the entertainment business. There are some students who were once performers and no longer want to be on stage. Some have a love for sports and want to work in marketing or management of a professional or collegiate level sports team. Others want to put their organization and coordination skills to work and organize major events for venues and entertainment management companies.

Although most companies make good use of many off-the-shelf applications, from word-processing and spreadsheets to accounting, and enterprise-wide applications like Customer Relationship Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, etc., virtually all have areas of need not met by these applications. Every organization is unique in many ways-perhaps in the specific services or products it offers, in how it is managed, or how it relates to customers, and so on.

Working with the architect at Calvin College, we helped design and construct the Calvin College Vincent and Helen Bunker Interpretive Center that produces more than 65% if its own operating power and was awarded a Gold LEED Rating from the USGBC. Currently, we are also involved in the Saint Mary's Southwest Outpatient Campus, Saint Mary's Hauenstein Center, DeVos Children's Hospital, Granger Metro Medical Office Building, and Granger Metro Retail.

Also, we helped Adscape Media to develop the backend of their in-game advertising platform.

ALSI has experience on several different projects. ALSI performs testing for cities, boroughs, municipalities, industrial clients, such as weekly, monthly, and quarterly compliance monitoring. Programs supported include SDWA, NPDES, CWA, etc. ALSI also performs sampling and testing for various landfills in support of the various environmental monitoring programs designed specifically for each individual landfill or waste monitoring facility.

If residents, working with their Resident Assistant (RA) or Resident Director (RD), find that differences among roommates cannot be ironed out, changes can be requested. Residents can place their name on a waiting list beginning on Monday of the second week of classes. Depending upon space, changes can be made as early as the third week of classes. Living with a stranger may be difficult at first, but most students soon become friends, and learn much from each other.

We have organized food sales (with Krispy Kreme donuts, bagels, muffins, cookies, soda, Snapple, water, etc.), awareness-spreading / fundraising events such as our Sponsorship Drives and Awareness Weeks, and fundraiser dinners at Sweet Tomatoes. For some of these events, we bring dogs on campus who are currently in the R.E.S.C.U.E. system. Other events include taking a group of R.E.S.C.U.E. dogs to a local dog park to give them a break from their kennels.

Besides the DePaul University Chorus and Choirs, other groups with whom the chorus has performed include the Chicago Choral Artists, the Chatham Choral Ensemble, the Wesley United Methodist Church Chancel Choir (Aurora, IL), the Winnetka Congregational Church Chancel Choir, the Sacred Heart Adult Choir (Winnetka), the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton Westminster Choir, the Lutheran School of Theology Gospel Choir, the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation Choir, the Beth Emet Choir, the Musi.

Diversity is key to our programme, and that's why we're keen to recruit a really wide range of people to provide our volunteers with host homes. Previous hosts have included a retired widower of 75, and a Major and his wife who lived in a castle - variety is, after all, the spice of life! Far more important than having 2.4 children and a dog is a willingness to involve our volunteers in all aspects of daily life.

We've had three broad areas of placements: educational, care and environmental. Volunteers have worked at centres for people with learning difficulties, as assistants in nursery and primary schools, helped run play schemes and volunteered with environmental groups doing hands-on conservation management. Each community will have its own make-up of social projects. As a result, we've had placements that have been fairly unique to those communities.

Projects eligible for SRF loans include wastewater management facilities, reclaimed wastewater reuse facilities, stormwater management facilities, widely accepted pollution control practices (sometimes called "best management practices") associated with agricultural stormwater runoff pollution control activities, and estuary protection activities and facilities.

Since the scholarship program began in 1996, over 150 projects have been completed domestically and in countries around the world. Project topics have been diverse and far-reaching but all share a focus on promoting human rights.
