We don't require a specific score. The average GPA of the full-time master's students entering is approximately 3.3. The middle 80% of GMAT and GRE (average of three sections) scores are in the 510-660 range.

Kellogg has no minimum requirements for the GMAT or GPA. The average GMAT is 700, with approximately 75 percent of our enrolled students scoring between 650 and 740. The GMAT is just one criterion in the admissions process and is not the only indicator for success in business school. GMAT scores are valid for five years from the testing date to the application deadline to which you are applying.

Here at the University of Southern California we do a comprehensive review of all applications. We do not use a formula or have minimum test score and GPA requirements for admission to USC. No. All candidates are required to submit GMAT scores. We do not accept the GRE for the full-time MBA program; we will consider it, however, for the MS in management.

It's important to remember that GMAT or GRE test scores are only one element of your application, and you should not over-estimate their importance. Nonetheless, we will certainly be looking at the test scores for evidence of strong quantitative skills, given the analytical and quantitative nature of the programme. We understand that non-native English speaking applicants are often at a disadvantage in the verbal tests, and we will interpret the results accordingly.

Because of the way we use GPA data, you really cannot improve your GPA without obtaining a graduate degree, or at least accumulating a large number of graduate hours with a good graduate GPA. If you do have a large number of graduate hours (e.g. 20+ hours), make sure we become aware of your successful efforts at graduate study. Since you may not be able to increase your GPA score, you will need to increase your scores in other areas (i.e. GRE and interview).

No. Many factors are considered in the admissions process. However, you will want to note our average and range of scores in our most recent class profile. We will see all of your scores but will take your higher score if you take the test twice. If you take the GMAT more than twice, we consider all scores, but don’t average them.

The MSF program seeks students with strong quantitative skills, which can more easily be assessed with a GMAT or GRE score. The majority of applicants submit a GMAT score. The average GMAT score for an admitted student in 2007 was 663.

With respect to GPAs, the University requires a minimum GPA of 2.5, however, a 3.0 or greater is strongly preferred. The GPA is calculated using the last 90 quarter units (or last 60 semester units) of study. GPA competitiveness vary with the undergraduate degree, and we therefore consider and make adjustments for students coming from programs/schools without grade inflation or with a reputation for rigor.
