MIDI data cannot be included in an MP3, Wave, RealAudio, or Windows Media file. Only audio data can be exported as one of these file types. New Position: If you would like to jump to a prescribed position, choose New Position (G) and type in a new cursor coordinate: sample number (if the time axis is calibrated in samples) or time (if the axis is calibrated in units of time). SFS maintains its own file format for data. It needs this because it maintains a processing history of each data set; this allows a user to keep track of the origin and processing of any piece of data. SFS also tries to keep data sets together in a single file, to try and make the user interface simpler. You can record any file up to the amount of empty hard drive space that you have in your system. The software currently 'caps' recordings at 2GB in length. This means that you can record 2048MB of data. At 44.1kHz, 16-bit stereo (CD format for audio), this would amount to roughly 200 minutes of audio data. You can, of course, also record more tracks, but we will always have to work with whatever empty hard drive space is available.

If you are trying to play the Voice files without using the buttons, you will get this message. Follow these steps carefully to play the voice files. First File: Press "1" button -> Play the Voice file using footpedal or F6 Key. Second File: Press "2" button -> Play the Voice file using footpedal or F6 Key. and so on.

All audio files use the MP3 format. Specifically, the audio file format is MPEG1, Layer 3 at 128kbps, stereo. The sampling rate and resolution is 44.1K at 16-bit. This will result in file sizes of approximately 1 mega-byte per minute. Other than the TITLE, there is no other Idv1 or Idv2 META data associated with the file. These files are standard MP3 files and will play using WINAMP, WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, and most standard audio file players.

Java 1.1 and earlier releases use one audio format exclusively. The audio file must be in .au format, recorded at 8 KHz, mono, in mu-law encoding. If your audio clip is in a different format (e.g., .wav) or a different frequency it must be converted to the exact specifications above before Java can play it. Support for .wav and other formats is part of the Java Media Framework coming in JDK 1.2. Search at www.yahoo.

The tracks we sell are delivered to you as MP3 files. They have been encoded using a very high quality encoder at 256kbit/sec VBR (Variable Bitrate). They will play on any MP3 player, including iPods and many car stereo players (when burned to CD-R). We encode at this bitrate setting because blind tests have shown that files encoded this way are indistinguishable from the original audio. Tracks encoded at a higher bitrate, but CBR (Constant Bitrate) would actually not be better quality.

There are many types of compressed audio files, but MP3 is by far the industry standard so that is what we support.

Before the installation, please see System Requirements first to make sure that your PC meets the conditions. Find the setup package you have downloaded from the website. It's an exe file, double click it to run it, then follow the prompts to finish the installation procedure.
