JEM, like other moving image archives around the world safeguards the original or master recordings in its archives. Research copies of materials, with burnt-in time code, are available on either DVD or VHS formats. For licensing materials, we use a submaster recording and can provide footage in NTSC standard Beta SP, DVCam, Mini-DV, VHS and DVD.

When the file number blinks, use the REWIND key to select the number of the reserved recording you wish to delete.

Yes. In Voice Mode press and hold the repeat button for 10-15 seconds until it resets (erases all files) and try again. Sometimes files do not get deleted properly in the FAT and this makes the unit think the memory is full. To avoid this, format the units memory with the software every couple of weeks or do this procedure.

Be sure you have confirmed your new FameCast Artist account via email. To see if your video has been uploaded, log in and click the Media tab in your Artist BackStage Manager. If your video has been uploaded, it will appear in both the Videos and Contest Entries sections. It will also be viewable to the public on your BackStage profile.

The videos are in Windows WMV format which can be viewed live as a streaming video or can be saved to your PC for later viewing. Click on a link to below to view a video live. Both names refer to the same process, namely a TV programme recorded onto ordinary 16mm or 35mm film (even 8mm !). It was used to archive programmes from about 1947 to 1976 and was mostly done on b/w film. The BBC pioneered the first recording suite en masse. In some individuals, even scalp video-EEG recording is not sufficiently localizing to decide on epilepsy surgery. The encoding format for DVR-card is MPEG4. DVR series uses motion JPEG encoding which is a extended mode of JPEG. They can be converted into AVI or MPEG files for display on other computers.

We have never lost or damaged a client's original video. However, things can happen. We suggest making a copy of your video and then sending us the original (be sure to send us the original, not the copy, to ensure maximum video qualtiy). We only ship via UPS for maximum reliability, and suggest you do the same if you are shipping your video to us.

After your video is successfully uploaded to share.us, we will convert your video file to flash format then we will save your original video to a safe place. In the future, if there is another video format that offers better quality than flash format then we will use the original file to convert to the new format so your video is always up to the best quality of video that's available, or perhaps if the bandwith permitted we will also allow user view directly from your original video.

The machine can be set up easily within an existing business, such as a convenience store, newsagent, mobile phone shop, internet caf?, pharmacy, coffee shop, petrol station: any business with good footfall. The size of the machine is less than 2 square metres but in order to operate and access it comfortably a space of up to 5 square metres is recommended. If you are looking to set up a complete video store it is necessary to have a minimum of 60 square metres.

Does it work for everyone's needs? No. Is it overkill? Sometimes. Is it insufficient? Sometimes. Depends on the answers to the above questions.

No. We do not expect any of our new students to have had previous experience in film or video. Most new students to the program are not familiar with filmmaking or editing equipment, thus the first semester of classes are designed to acquaint students with the filmmaking and editing process. 

While most of our students and classes work in Digital video, we do teach the technique and aesthetics of film. We have six 16 mm film cameras that students can check out.

Perhaps a better chance than a career in Philosophy. But all kidding aside, there are more opportunities now for electronic creative storytellers, or filmmakers. If you are looking for a 9 to 5 job this is not the best place for you. If you are looking to have a life working in film and video, we can help you.
