Ideally, we begin before out-of-home treatment, continue through such treatment (if necessary), and provide post-treatment support. If your child is already in a treatment program, he or she will eventually come home.

If residential treatment services are denied, the mental health agency will provide written recommendations of appropriate services for the child and family. The family will need to make decisions and explore resources to pay for these services. The mental health agency will also inform the parent/guardian about the appeal process. If the local appeal supports the denial, the parent/guardian may appeal to the Division of Mental Health.

Scabies is caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei. Scabies mites are attracted to the warmth and smell of humans. Scabies usually is spread by close, intimate contact, such as sleeping in the same bed with or touching someone who has scabies. The scabies mite cannot fly or jump, and it moves very slowly.

The state also provides funding for Families First services for youth on probation and in a study on preventing teen suicide. In Fiscal Year 2005, 40% of our program expenses were covered by the state.
