My first Frenchie litter was whelped late 1991, and consisted of one female puppy, a brindle girl named Sagan, that I kept, of course. So, I've been raising Frenchies well over 13 years now.

I purchased my first Frenchie, "Chevy", in January 1991, and have been hooked on this wonderful breed ever since.

Most well socialized French Bulldogs do not bite under ordinary circumstances. Sadly, not all our rescues have been well socialized. Dogs with a history of aggression towards other animals, but are good with people, are placed in single pet homes, with full disclosure of their animosity towards other animals. Dogs who have bitten people are carefully evaluated, both by their foster homes and by professional behaviorists or skilled dog trainers.

Every imaginable source! Families or owners who can no longer care for their dogs for any reason surrender their pets to us. Some are breeder retirees who are ready for lives as pets. Some are puppy mill dogs who have never known life outside a cage. Some are strays or owner surrenders pulled from animal shelters or humane societies. Some dogs are victims of abuse or neglect and are turned over to us by authorities.

Most of FBRN's money is spent ensuring the French Bulldogs who are adopted from FBRN go in good health and good condition. To the best of our knowledge and ability, we will always share any long term concerns and advise our adopters of any possible requirements their rescue might have. Each adoptive family will receive a copy of their dog's available health records.

Many rescues are surrendered because they have not done well with children in the past. These dogs do not make good pets for families with children. Some French Bulldogs, on the other hand, are marvelous with children.

General The Bulldog is a beautiful dog which was originally bred for Bullbaiting, and although the dog may look strange to people with no class and culture, one must keep in mind that virtually all of its physical traits were tailored for Bullbaiting. Originally, Bulldogs were most likely a cross between a Pug (which was imported from China by the Portuguese in the mid to late 16th century), and the progeny of the Alaunt/Mastiff crosses.

Our first litter, out of English import Ch. Spenrock Heatheredge Mariner was born in 1983. Since then, we have steadily increased our breeding stock and now produce between 4 and 6 litters a year, depending on Nature.

I have been breeding and showing Labradors since 1997. While at a show in 2003, my husband wandered over to the Pug ring. That is when he saw ‘Jumbo’ and fell in love. (‘Jumbo’ is CH Lazy G Sir John, who now resides with us as a guest of honor.) He was being beautifully handled by Kim Langlands, earning his points towards his championship title.

You'll have to do your own experimenting to come up with the proper time and temps depending on the size cut for the potato. Typically you'll need to blanch for about 5 minutes at 350 degrees F or so. The internal temp of the center section of the fry has to reach 160 degrees F to slow the enzyme reaction that turns a raw potato black when frozen. If the strips are gray, they are not blanched enough. Our "How To" section for fresh cut fries has some recommendations.

Language learning being a subjective competence varies from person to person. Usually a minimum of six months is required to acquire a very basic level of French and a year of French learning takes one to an intermediary level at institutes like the Alliance Fran?aises.

Some websites will promise offers within a very short period of time however the reality in France is that the time to process your mortgage and issue an offer depends on your project, the current workload of the chosen bank and whether or not we are in a vacation period in France (French bankers have nine weeks of holidays!).

My mother brought home her first breeding pair in 1984 when we lived in Munich, Germany. She was the first Ragdoll breeder in Germany, wrote an article on the breed into “Katzen” the only Cat magazine at the time and helped promote the breed in Germany. I was very young then, but was included in all of the operations of a clean, upscale cattery. Throughout the years I am continuously educating myself on genetics, overall cat health, and the Ragdoll standard.

In weeks I don't know. Seems like maybe just a couple then they give it up for a few months, maybe 4-6, then do it again for a "couple" of weeks then off again. I have never really noticed it becoming a habit or an obsession.

We have owned Bengals for 5 years and have been breeding responsibly since 2000 with great results. We continue to strive for puurrrrrfection.

The PBRA (section 5) defines breeding as including 'discovery' and 'selective propagation'. In normal circumstances, the 'discoverer' is the first to file for PBR protection. 'Selective propagation' is an outcome demonstrated by distinctness, uniformity and stability of the new variety when compared with the population/parents from which the new variety is derived. See the Report of the Expert Panel on Breeding for further information.

This is the million dollar question! Language acquisition is a lengthy process which requires consistent attention and dedication. There is no set time period that can define how long it will take. It is a complex equation that includes personal capacities and motivation. Most of our classes only meet once or twice a week so it is important to attend each week.

A4. There is no such thing as an English or British Bulldog. Members of the breed are simply called Bulldogs, as in The Bulldog. The French Bulldog, incidentally, derived from minature or dwarf Bulldogs sent to France by the English who did not want them...this in the late 1800's... The genes for mininature still exist in the Bulldog line, and I own one who is a perfectly proportioned 30 pound dog.

A8. No. Although it is often unclear what people mean when they say "Pit Bull". They could mean American Pit Bull Terrier, or just a dog which was originally bred for pit fighting (and has bulldog-X blood) or most likely they really don't know what they are talking about. The press usually defines "Pit Bull" as a dog that bites. Terriers and Bulldogs were crossed to yield the Bull and Terrier which then led to the Bull Terrier and the so-called "Pit Bull". (Well, even this is debatable.

Investigate the following areas: Not the appropriate breeding season; two birds of the same sex; old age; overcrowding; insufficient nesting sites or material; stress; temperature or weather conditions; obesity and diet. Many suggestions in the Breeding article.

All of our Doodle puppies are first generation (F1) crosses. The F1 hybrid is the healthiest cross possible due to "hybrid vigor". It is our desire to raise and promote this hybrid. We carefully select each purebred parent for the characteristics that would result in puppies with the most desirable pet qualities. Our goal in breeding F1 puppies is to breed a very healthy puppy with the desirable companion traits found in their purebred parents.
