The OCOGs' budgets are funded by the sales of broadcast rights (TV, radio and new media), international and national sponsorships and the sale of tickets and licensed products. The International Olympic Committee directly provides around a considerable amount to organising committees from the sales of broadcast rights and international sponsorship. In recent years, OCOG budgets for running the Games have been balanced or have generated a small surplus.

When Pierre de Coubertin revived the Olympic Games (called the Games of the Olympiad) in 1896, they only involved summer sports. In the 1920s, the popularity of snow and ice sports increased spectacularly. Torchbearers were nominated by family members, friends and colleagues who wrote a 50-100-word essay explaining how the nominees embodied the Olympic Spirit and provided inspiration to their communities. The Salt Lake Organizing Committee (SLOC), Coca-Cola and Chevrolet accepted nominations during March and April of 2001. Nominations received by SLOC were read and judged by regional community task forces.

SLOC, working in conjunction with the United States Olympic Committee, allocated slots for more than 200 U.S. Olympians to carry the Olympic Flame during the Relay. Both current and former summer and winter Olympic athletes will carry the flame.

Best efforts were made to allow torchbearers to carry the flame within or near their communities. When those nominated accepted the invitation to be Olympic Torchbearers they agreed to take full responsibility to travel to their assigned location on the day they will carry the flame. Olympic –style air rifle and air pistol shooting uses the same target type, distance, and equipment used during the Olympics Games. Olympic airgun competition utilizes bullseye-type targets ( air rifle, air pistol ) at a distance of 10 Meters (10M) using rifles and pistols that fire a .177 caliber pellet . Guns may be powered by compressed air or Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and must use open or metallic sights, optical sights are not allowed in official competition.

You can use either Hex or Donut style PlateMates with an Olympic bar. To use the Donut, Olympic plates should be loaded onto the bar with the flat sides out.
