California State Law through Penal Code sections 12050 through 12054 specifies the criteria for issuing a permit to carry a concealed firearm. You must be a West Virginia resident to obtain a West Virginia permit. Applications are processed by the Sheriff of your county of residence. As of July 22, 2004, federal law permits any qualified current or retired law enforcement officer to carry a concealed firearm in any of the 50 states. First, one would see the Clerk of the Court and fill out a Concealed Weapons form. The next step is to be fingerprinted at the sheriff's office located behind the courthouse.
