Plan to arrive at SOSA between 9 and 10 AM. Weekends are your best bet for introductory flights. Please note that weekday introductory flights are subject to availability. When you arrive, please tell one of the club members that you would like an introductory flight, and would like to speak to the Field Manager or Duty Instructor to have your name put on the flight priority list.

SOSA Gliding Club is located about one hour's drive west of Toronto. It is closer to Hamilton, Kitchener-Guelph-Cambridge and Brantford. Located 10 km east of Cambridge on highway 8, the airfield is on Cooper Road. Cooper Road runs northward from highway 8, just west of the Brown Barrel Deli, between Sheffield and Rockton villages. Alternately, If you use highway 6, you can turn west onto Safari Road. Follow Safari Road to the African Lion Safari at Cooper Road and turn south on Cooper Road.

introductory flight will give you a chance to pilot a helicopter for the first time. This will help you decide if you really want to pursue a pilots licence plus it will give you a knowledge base for the ground studying. National helicopters offers a 20 minute "Discovery Flight" as a special package, or you may want to just book an hour of flight training for a more thorough introduction.

Customers traveling should remember to check in as early as possible for their flights. Baker Travel advises customers to arrive at the airport at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. For early morning departures, please remember to check with the airport first to confirm their hours of operation.

Because of the tendency for clouds to form over the mountains as the day progresses, morning tours in general tend to be weathered out less often. However, the weather is always unpredictable and some days a late afternoon flight will offer spectacular viewing and the enhanced colors of late afternoon flying.

Sunny or partly cloudy weather is best for an introductory flight. We also fly when the weather is completely overcast and the clouds are high enough - such weather usually gives very smooth air conditions. We do not fly when it is raining. Personalized gift certificates are made up by Kathy Samuelson, Columbus Flight Instruction's owner and flight instructor. You can buy gift certificates for the half-hour or one hour introductory flights, or for any amount of gift money that can be put in an account that the student can use at any time during training.

Answer: Most airlines generally suggest checking in 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time to allow time to pass through an airport's security checkpoint. One of the advantages of using CMI is the relative ease of the airport security checkpoints. Please check with your carrier for current requirements for security checks.

Arrive early - Shedd is a popular place, and it can get crowded, especially on weekends, in the summer and on holidays. Sunday mornings, when the aquarium is least crowded, are a great time for family visits.

If requested I usually arrive at least an hour before the bride leaves her house to photograph the preparations, and then head on to the ceremony venue to capture the guests arriving and the groom and best man waiting.

There is no definitive answer to this question. As a graduate student, it is best to arrive at least two to three weeks before classes start, to find housing, settle down and know your way about this place and also to get some initial formalities/paperwork done. If you are joining in Fall, we would recommend arriving about a 7-10 days before September 1, so as to get a good deal on your apartment. MOST apartment leases are signed by September 1.

Atoll normally schedules all arrivals for Sunday and departures are set for Saturday. If you need an extra day please check with us as this might not be possible in some cases. Also, if you are arriving or departing on a day other than the regularly scheduled days then the airport/train station transfer will be an additional fee.

Parking opens 9:00am, Gates open at Noon. Arrive early to allow for possible traffic and security search at the entrance. Please try and carpool.

It is best to wait until the seat belt sign is extinguished once you are in the air. The reason for this is that the cabin pressure will have stabilized by this time. If you inflate it too early you may have a problem with over-inflation, in which case the pillow will expand like a balloon. If this does happen, all you have to do is loosen the deflation valve until some pressure is released and the pillow returns to it's normal size.

Arrival: Sunday 25 July. Departure: Saturday 7 August. You can however arrive already on Saturday 24 July.
