You will be placed on probation if your term or overall grade-point average (GPA) falls between 1.5 and 1.99. You will be subject to dismissal if your grade-point average in any one term is less than 1.5 OR if you do not earn at least a C (2.0) average in any one term when you were on probation OR if you do not end probation by the end of the next term.

Probation means that the student has a record with our office. This does not affect his/her academics in any way and is not reflected on the student's transcript. If a student violates university policy while on probation then his or her sanction will be more severe. Repeated violations of JMU policy could result in a student's suspension from the university.

Students who earn less than a 2.0 cumulative GPA for two consecutive quarters are placed on "First Quarter Probation." Students on "First Quarter Probation" may be academically suspended from the college if they do not earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 during the next quarter. Students on probation are required to meet with their faculty advisor or an Educational Planning and Advising staff member to discuss their academic progress.

If you have been admitted on probation then you have not met the minimum standards for admission in good standing. You must attain at least a 3.0 (B average) after completing your first 12 graduate credits for probation status to be removed.

Teachers commencing employment with the Department of Education, Training and the Arts will be subject to a probationary period of 8 months from commencement. The probationary period assists the Department to understand the skills, knowledge and abilities of the teacher and provide support in areas identified as requiring further development.

Students are placed on academic probation if they have not met the UWM quality of work requirement. If your cumulative grade point average falls below 2.0, you will be placed on academic probation. This is a warning signal to you that you may be in jeopardy of being academically dismissed from UWM. You should see your advisor immediately if you are placed on academic probation. Students will remain on academic probation until their cumulative grade point average increases to 2.0 or above.

Enrollment is limited to 10 credits, or equivalent, due to indications of difficulty in previous semesters (see policy outlined in Student Handbook). First-year/New Transfer Students: If a student fails to earn a 2.0 GPA in the first semester of attendance, a letter will be sent stating that the student is on Academic Probation. To be removed from probation, the student must attain BOTH a 2.0 Shepherd University and cumulative GPA (includes course work attempted from other institutions). Continuing Students: A student who has been enrolled for more than one semester and whose Shepherd University GPA or cumulative GPA falls below a 2.

To continue at Appalachian in good academic standing, a student must earn, as a minimum, the following cumulative GPA's at the end of each semester indicated: If a student fails to earn the GPA indicated above at the end of the assigned semesters, they will be automatically placed on a semester of academic probation for the semester that follows. Students are allowed to enroll for a maximum of 2 semesters of academic probation.

A student who has attempted 12 units shall be placed on academic probation if his or her GPA has fallen below 2.0. Students who have enrolled in at least 18 units and completed less than 50% of those units shall be placed on progress probation. Students on academic and/or progress probation are of great concern to the faculty at LTCC because the likelihood of achieving their educational goals is threatened.

Probation is an alternative to jail or prison that is granted for a period of time dictated by the court. When probation is revoked, this means the probation period is recalled while the court reviews the status of the person on probation and whether or not they are complying with the terms and conditions of probation. Probation is usually revoked when there is an alleged violation of one or more of the conditions of probation. The court can impose a prison sentence at this time.

By participating in the National Flood Insurance Program, communities agree to adopt and enforce floodplain regulations governing construction and development in and around Special Flood Hazard Areas. In return, the federal government makes flood insurance and federal disaster assistance available to the community and its residents.

Academic probation means that you are not earning grades that demonstrate progress toward a bachelors degree. If you don't improve your academic performance you may be dismissed from the College. In order to graduate from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, you must meet the minimum of 2.00 for your UI cumulative gpa, your total cumulative gpa, your major gpa, and your UI major gpa.

For the purpose of retention, academic good standing for degree-seeking students is defined as shown in the table below. A student who does not maintain the minimum GPA standard is placed on academic probation or is disqualified.A student on academic probation is permitted to register for classes. A student who has been disqualified is not permitted to register for classes for fall or spring semesters.

Probation is either imposed by a judge or as an outcome of an agreement between the youth, parents and juvenile counselor. A judge can imposes a maximum probation period of five years and shall not extend beyond the juvenile's 23rd birthday. Six months to two years is a common period of probation. The length of time depends on the seriousness of the offense, the need for supervision, and the youth's compliance with the conditions of probation.

Evaluation is a closer than routine period of monitoring imposed on an operation or home when violations present a lower risk to children and the operation or home has not been able to come into compliance. The length of time for evaluation is not less than 30 days or more than six months. Probation is an action imposed on an operation or home when a specific incident or pattern of violations could lead to adverse action.

Just as the term implies, indefinite probation means that there is no clearly defined or stated amount of time that you must be on probation. However, you must complete all orders of the Court and demonstrate acceptable behavior at home, school and in the community before your probation officer will consider recommending your release to the Court. In most cases, juveniles are on probation for a few months, before they have been able to demonstrate their readiness to be released.

Just as the term implies, determinate probation is precisely determined, limited or defined by the Court as to the amount of time you must be on probation. The only way this can be altered is if the Court determines extenuating circumstances that warrant an order modifying the original order for a determinate amount of time. If he/she is your child, it is your determination if he/she would best be served by “boot camp” program.

Students are placed on academic probation if their cumulative grade point average is below 2.0 (C average) or if 50% or more of their total units are recorded on their college transcript as W (withdrawal), I (incomplete), or NC (no credit). The Counseling Department has developed the Student Success Program to assist those who have been placed on academic probation.

If you are admitted on Freshman Probation or College Transitions it is required that you participate in a First Year Experience block. You will be grouped with students who meet the same criteria and who may need some additional assistance in making their first semester in college a success.

A cumulative GPA lower than 2.0 will place a student on "academic probation." A student who has completed at least 13 cumulative credit hours at ACC must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Transfer credits from other institutions will not be calculated in your ACC GPA. The probation process involves meeting with an Academic Advisor during each semester of the probation. Probation remains in effect until the student's ACC cumulative GPA reaches a minimum of 2.0.

This is also called a Prayer for Judgement or Deferment in some jurisdictions. This is a procedure where you pay the fine but the speeding ticket is masked and does not show on your record. The clerk of court can tell you if this is available in your state and the restrictions. Texas, Maryland, and North Carolina offer this option but usually only to drivers from their state.

The reasons for the probation are specifically stated in a letter sent to the institution along with information on how to seek reconsideration of or appeal the decision. A program can get off of probation either through successfully addressing the issues that caused it to be placed on probation, or through successfully seeking reconsideration or appeal of the decision.

Community Supervision and Corrections Departments (CSCD) also known as Adult Probation Departments, provides primary services to adult offenders through various programs designed and developed through the local Judicial District Community Justice Council and implemented through the CSCD.

The student is put on probation if that student secures less than 2.2 GPA (for undergraduate programs) and 2.8 GPA (for graduate programs) in a semester. If the student is unable to improve, it results in cancellation of admission.
