The cottage has traditional thick stone walls and is very cosy, with its solid fuel fire in the living room, electric panel and storage heaters in all rooms, and the Lodge has excellent insulation and energy-efficient electric heating. Warm season grasses, like Bermuda, look outstanding and are more drought tolerant during the summer months.
