If you are getting "out of mbuf" errors, this will fix that. kern.ipc.nmbclusters may be adjusted to increase the number of network mbufs the system is willing to allocate. Each cluster represents approx- imately 2K of memory, so a value of 1024 represents 2M of kernel memory reserved for network buffers. You can do a simple calculation to figure out how many you need.

Systems Design Engineering (SyDe) is a unique program that originated at the University of Waterloo over 30 years ago. You will notice that it has the word “Design” in the name. Our program focuses on teaching our students methods for designing products, tools, tasks, and systems. The methods and approaches we teach are applicable to the design of almost any product, tool, task or system.

It is not impossible but very difficult to transfer into Systems Design Engineering. We are limited to the same number of spots in the program for the 2nd year as there are in the 1st year (90 students). If there are spots available, then a transfer is only considered if the student is very strong academically and will be a good fit with the SyDe program. Students who are interested in transferring must go through the internal transfer process set out by the University of Waterloo.

Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) not Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng). Some universities will give a B.Eng. However, it is only the name that is different. Both programs are CEAB accredited.
