Our soaps usually stay 'good' for years. In fact, the older a soap gets, the longer it will last when you finally combine it with water in your shower. However, time does affect the intensity of a soap's fragrance. For best fragrance, we recommend that you enjoy your soaps within six months of purchase.

Silk Soymilk will keep fresh in your refrigerator unopened until the date stamped on the top of the carton. Once opened, Silk will stay fresh for seven to 10 days if kept refrigerated. It is not unusual for Silk to remain good past the 10-day mark; however, we only guarantee that it will be good for seven to 10 days. Silk Shelf Stable Soymilk does not need to be refrigerated until it has been opened.

Coffee is freshest and will taste the best if brewed within two weeks of being roasted. Although coffee can still be brewed a month or two after being roasted it will not have same brightness and clean taste as when it is first roasted. Coffee becomes stale when the surface area of the bean is exposed to air. For this reason we recommend that you buy whole bean coffee and grind only enough for what you are brewing.

In general, soap has a very long shelf life (years). Depending on your bathing habits, you can expect your bar to last two to three weeks. Please remember to place your soap in a dish that drains to extend the longevity.

The terms "soft water" and "hard water" are important here. Water is said to be "soft" if it has a low concentration of calcium and magnesium ions in it, and "hard" water has a higher concentration. The ions react with the soap you use to produce a scummy residue that is hard to wash off. If you use "hard" water you also will have a harder time working the soap up into a lather.

All candies should be stored between 62-68 degrees in a breathable container. Candies with filling will keep for about two months if stored correctly. Solid chocolate with keep for about a year.

Most produce will last about a week, and sometimes longer when kept properly. Here are some general rules for storing produce for maximum freshness. Citrus is best kept at room temperature of 60-70 degrees and used within two weeks. Do not store in plastic bags. Berries and Cherries are best covered in the fridge. Green coffee beans will last for around two years without any noticeable loss of flavor. Green coffee beans should be stored in some sort of container that will allow it to breathe and not impart another flavor to the beans: burlap bags, paper bags, etc.; avoid plastic containers. Storing them at room temperature and out of direct light is fine.

Immediately after roasting, Roast A Bean recommends waiting until the beans have cooled and degassed for at least 4 hours. Flavor will begin to decline after about 10 days, so only roast what you will use in that time. We believe, based upon research that you should roast enough to last 4 to 5 days and use the coffee within 7 to 10 days after roasting to maintain the freshness.

Dark roasts will stay fresh for several weeks but light and medium roasts begin to lose their flavor within days. To best enjoy fresh roasted coffee, consume it within a week of roasting. Apart from dark roasts, coffee is at its absolute best in the first day after roasting, with the exception of the first 4 to 6 hours (during this period, the beans rapidly vent some of the CO2 that the roasting process releases). The coffee aroma is also strongest during the first day.

Currently our coffees are available in 5 lb. and 8 oz. vacuum sealed and nitrogen flushed airtight valve bags. Nitrogen flushing is an added step we take to ensure our coffees stay fresher for a longer period of time and arrive to our customers at the very peak levels of freshness. Smoke-Break has been tested to stay fresh for six (6) weeks, non-refrigerated. For the purposes of the clinical study, we will be using a 2-week expiration date.

That is a tough one to answer and I say that it is dependent on the user. If you take good care of your soap, and let it dry out between uses, our 4-5 ounce bar will last around a month as an all over body-care product. If you only use it on your face, obviously it will last longer. If you have a family using it several times a day, less would be the answer.

We prefer that clients "switch" units periodically. In fact every two weeks is best. In this manner the system is always looking clean and natural. There won't be split ends. Color corrections will need to be done occasionally but it's a very easy process. Hair is a very durable medium.

If you keep them tightly sealed, most of our cereals will stay fresh for 9 months from the date the product was made. The exception is our Nutty Flax which has a 6 month shelf life.

We don't use much preservatives in our cookies, they are pretty close to "all natural". If kept in a cool area the cookies will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks. A few days if not kept cool, and up a 2 months in the fridge.
