All images that are loaded into the web ordering software must be .jpg file type. The system will not load .tif, .psd (layered) or RAW format files.

Any recent version (anything from the last few years) of IE or Netscape should display everything. For files you download, ACDSee is a recommended image viewer.

Some sites make there images php based and so they have odd names such as http://mysite.com/image.php?id=8383023&pic=mypicture.jpg. These are not able to be directly transferred from one server to another because they are actually php files, not images. The way to get around this is to save the image to your computer first and then upload with the regular upload form.

Again, Unix is case sensitive. Make sure that when you are calling your images and links from within your page, that the file names and links are the same case. For example, MY_PICTURE.GIF is not the same as my_picture.gif. Mother Lode Internet has the most liberal web space policy around.

Since our servers use Linux, the filesystem is case-sensitive. Therefore, unlike in Windows, any references to images, directories, scripts etc, must be in the same case as the actual files on the server. i.e. you can't refer to an image called abc.JPG as abc.jpg. To speed up the display of pages, many web browsers simply recall information for a website from memory, rather than checking back at the source (i.e. the server).

WinImages is an aspect-correct program. It reads the DPI (dots-per-inch) settings from an image file and uses them to set the ratio of width to height for display. Some programs do not set these values in the image file correctly, and as a result, the image will appear distorted. The solution is to select "Change Image Info" from the menus and edit the DPI setting. If you want the change to be permanent, you'll need to re-save the image.

Usually, images that do not load correctly represent a temporary problem and do not require any special fixes. Simply reload the page you are currently visiting and the problem should be resolved. If the issue does not resolve itself you might also make sure that your browser software has not become corrupt ? if it has you might try uninstalling and installing the most current version of your chosen browser software.

SimpleViewer can load JPGs and SWFs. Any other file types (.gifs, videos etc) are not supported. SWFs are loaded in the same way as JPGs, just add the SWF filename to gallery.xml. When the network gets overloaded, accessing images to include in your wish list can take a relatively long time. In order to prevent frustrating delays in loading the wish list, we block all images after the wish list has been loading for an uncomfortable delay. The most common reason why a load flow fails to converge is an error in entering loads or entering lines or conductor information. Basically, if you try to push too much load through too small a conductor, the voltage drops too far (i.e. below 50% of normal) and the load flow cannot converge. A symptom of this is if you can successfully run a load flow with a load scaling factor of .5 or .2 and that when you do so, the voltages at the ends of your feeders are relatively low.
