Why can't I see my friend's computer in my Network Neighborhood workgroup?
UT ResnetWhen you view other computers via Network Neighborhood, you are using Windows file sharing. If it does not work: Make sure you are logged into your Windows machine with a user name and password, and that the password is not blank. Bypassing the login window at startup will cause Windows to disable file sharing. Make sure that your computer has a unique name.

If you go to find computers from your task bar in windows you can type in the computer name and Network Neighborhood will locate the computer you seek.
