That depends on why you've been evicted. If it is because you're in breach of your tenancy, for example, you have not paid your rent, then you must find your own accommodation. If the Council has accepted you as homeless and you are eviced then the Council will no longer have a duty to house you.

In order to evict you, the landlord must give you a proper written notice that you owe rent (3 day notice in both NE and IA) which gives three calendar days to pay or he or she will begin eviction proceedings. If the eviction is based on violating the lease or rules, then it is a 14 day notice in NE and a 7 day notice in IA. These are very serious notices and it is very important that you follow the right steps to "cure" the situation.

Typically you'll get 3 days notice! Most banks will start the eviction process immediately after the foreclosure process but the FHA and VA are slower. If you own rental property, your tenants will normally be given 30 days notice. If you need more time than given, contact your lending institution immediately to ask for an extension.

Most evictions (75 to 85 percent) are for non-payment of rent. Under the new Tenant Protection Act, tenants have five days to reply in writing when a landlord files a Notice of Application to carry out an eviction. Tenants who cannot write easily in English or French, or who do not understand what is required of them, may fail to reply in time. If they do not reply, the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal proceeds without hearing their side of the issue.

Hounslow Homes will apply to the court to evict you if you have not complied with the terms of your tenancy agreement. We will contact you about the problem before we apply to the court.  Evictions are a last resort for tenants who do not repay rent arrears or commit race crime or anti-social behaviour.

Evictions in Pinellas County are handled through the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The Clearwater Police Department does not handle eviction orders. We use Royal Mail for the majority of our deliveries. If you are not in, you will be left a note to say that delivery was attempted, which will also contain full instructions about how to obtain your parcel - either by rearranging a delivery time, or by collecting the parcel from a local delivery office.

Many users have reported problems if the MD recorder experiences shock and vibration while recording. Apparently the read-ahead buffer also works for recording, but strong disturbances could cause the laser to erase other spots on the MD, like the TOC or existing tracks, thus damaging previous recordings. To remain on the safe side, the MD recorder should not be subjected to shock or vibration while recording.

If you are found to have infringed, then you might be subject to monetary damages, injunction and even possible criminal penalties.

Since August 2000, when the CHA began keeping centralized records, through December 2001, the one-strike investigator has reviewed 1,510 referrals for possible one-strike evictions. To date of those 1,510 referrals, 124 units have been evicted; 240 cases have been settled on various terms, for example removing the violator but allowing the remainder of the family to stay; and 112 cases were either dismissed or withdrawn due to issues like mistaken identity or technical error.

You should contact the Homeless Persons Unit at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow, TW3 4DN and advise them that you have been evicted. They will provide you with immediate advice and assistance but are unlikely to be able to offer you another tenancy. Again, unfortunately, GHA does not operate emergency housing or emergency subsidy. We were established to provide long term affordable rental housing. Additionally, we are required to provide housing assistance to families according to local preferences, and date of application.

You should immediately seek advice from a Law Centre or Solicitor. They can assist you in making an application to the County Court to apply for a stay of the warrant of eviction. This application will normally be considered by the Judge who will consider whether or not there are any grounds for stopping the eviction from going ahead.
