If you have a Colorado, Daktronics or Kyrotech numeric scoreboard (one-line or multi-lane), you're in luck! You can connect your computer to the board and just tell the TIMEWARE Software what you're using. The scoreboard display will be the same as before, but you will have all the additional capabilities of the TIMEWARE Software. Several of our customers have taken this road while they raise additional funds for a scoreboard purchase.

IST's scoreboards can only be driven by an IBM-compatible computer and TIMEWARE Software. Your current timing console simply isn't smart enough.

No, a chip will be provided in your race packet for use on Race Day. Volunteers will collect it from you in the finish area. If you own a chip, indicate your chip number on your registration and be sure to bring it to Chip Check at the Expo. Your official time is from the gun until you cross the finish mats. Chip time is provided as a service to you, and is accepted by many races as a qualifying time, including the Boston Marathon

Do not cross the timing mats while you are wearing your chip unless it is during the race. Prior to the start of the race all the receivers at the mats must be cleared and prepped for the race. Inadvertent recordings of chips after this time will affect the accuracy of the results. After the race, chip owners must not cross the mats when returning to the transition area.

A timing belt is what drives the camshaft(s) in many vehicles on the road today. The camshaft(s) open the engine valves. When a timing belt breaks or slips on many engines the valves may remain open while the piston comes up causing major engine damage. We will try to have enough consoles on hand for everyone from the start of the event, however, this isn't always the case.
