SIPA: School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia...Proficiency in a language other than English is required for all MIA students prior to graduation from SIPA. This requirement may be met in any of three ways: If you have taken the TOEFL when applying to SIPA, verification of proficiency will automatically be noted on your Degree Audit Report. Proficiency exams may only be taken once. Spanish, French and German proficiency exams are offered through the SIPA Student Affairs Office during the first week of registration each semester.
