A few lucky women get through pregnancy without ever noticing any changes in the way their bodies process food. But some women who never had diabetes before becoming pregnant develop a condition called gestational diabetes. When you have this condition, high amounts of sugar circulate in your blood. You may feel unusually tired and thirsty, or notice a frequent need to urinate. If your blood sugar level gets very high, your vision may become blurry. However, some women have no symptoms at all.

The term “birth doula” refers to a supportive companion (other than a friend or loved one) who is professionally trained to provide non-medical labor and delivery support. A doula performs no clinical tasks and is not to be confused with the attending doctor, midwife and/or nursing staff.

Even if you believe that you never had a birth certificate, you should follow the instructions to request a certified copy from the Tennessee Vital Records Office if you were born in Tennessee. If no record of your birth is located, the Vital Records Office will send you a letter certifying that no record is on file. Many agencies that ask you for a birth certificate will accept this certified letter from the State of Tennessee in place of a birth certificate.

A birth doula can provide support for any type of birth: medicated or unmedicated, vaginal or c-section. A birth doula does not replace the role of your chosen birthing partner. The role of the birth doula is to assist and support the mother and her partner in achieving their birthing goals. The birth doula works very closely with any other coach present, and uses her training to assist and empower the birth partner to be actively present during the labor and delivery.

Most birth defects, or congenital anomalies, occur for unknown reasons. Some are genetic in origin, which means that it is related to the chromosomes or genes; this does not necessarily mean that the problem is inherited from the parents. Other anomalies occur randomly during the very complex process of embryonic and fetal development. This depends on the user. The most effective method is one that can be used effectively. All of the hormone methods provide the highest effectiveness, these include birth control pills (including Seasonale), the Ortho Evera Patch, NuvaRing, Mirena IUC, Depo Provera (injection), and the newest Implanon (implant). But, if you can’t remember to take pills at the same time everyday, using birth control pills my not be the best option. These are good questions to talk to your clinician about.

Abstenance (no sex) is of course 100% effective against pregnancy. Now for the answer that you were looking for: Your other choices for birth control should depend on your bodies chemistry and make-up. What works well for one woman, will not work at all for others. You may have to try different methods until you find what you are comfortable with. You should check with your doctor on these choices.

No. You don't have to go to a doctor to get condoms, lubricants. You can buy a condom from almost any drug store,in many super markets or even on the Internet. For most other types of birth control, you should see your doctor.

Birth or death certificates or copies of the same are available from the Clerk and Recorder's Office at the Courthouse, 155 West Granite, Butte, Montana, Room 201. Certified copies of birth certificates are $5.00; death certificates are $3.00.

It is not necessary. A personal statement of your date of birth along with a photocopy of your passport, driver license or state issued ID (Identification Card) will suffice. Yes, you may send all copies via e-mail with the exception of music copies which will be handed in the competiton office in Italy. When you first start on a new type of birth control method it can take up to three months for your body to adjust to the new hormones. During this time, you may have unpleasant side effects such as breast tenderness, headache, mild nausea and spotting. Most of these disappear within two weeks. However, the spotting may continue irregularly for the remainder of the three months. Your birth control is still working even though you are having break-through-bleeding.

One of every 33 babies is born with a birth defect. A birth defect can affect almost any part of the body.
